January 4th 2008
Happy New Year!!!!
We had a lovely Friday night for our first cruise of 2008. We want to
thank the 106 cruisers that braved the cooler temperature today. Many of
our regulars did not show up, either it was the weather or other things
planned. However we did have another successful cruise. The early
birds were very slow coming in tonight. We were alone until after 4 but
by 5 we had a full line again. Block 4 only had 2 cruisers. Stan who
came in late and Dave and Bev.Dave had to pick Bev up at the airport,
after her trip up North, where the weather was 11 below. We guess she is
glad to be back in sunny Florida.
Doug was out in his El Camino. Also his friend Joanne was with him.
Ralph and Shirley also made it out on this cool evening. Carol Kleutten
from Kissimmee brought out her Pearl Gold 2007 Chevy Avalanche
Truck. Also her husband Ray had his Black and White checkerboard 1998
Corvette next in line. Also we spotted a very nice 1984 Red Buick, could
not locate the owner. It was 2 door with tan interior. Pat and the
Chrysler gang were back on trophy row in the block 1 area.
We found another original owner of a 1987 Black Grand National. These
cars seem to be rare. This black beauty has black and gray interior, it
is a 2 door and the engine has been modified to 603 hp, quite a cruiser.
The proud owners are Brent and Tammy Cox from Orlando. They had
their good looking daughter Ericka and their son Coby with them tonight.
We hope they keep on cruising with us.
We have a new cruiser of the month, January's pick is Darrel Jones from
Orlando, who was given this honor this month. He cruises a 1983 Blue and
White Monte Carlo. The interior is also blue and white, a very nice
cruiser indeed. We welcome you to this select few.
We missed Allan, who is out in California, but Joe did a very good job
as usual, but he could not give our cruise-O-Matic away tonight. He
pulled 7 numbers, but no takers.
We spotted this 1985 Purple and white Oldsmobile. It was on a raised
frame with 24 in. wheels which made it sit high. He plans to put 28 inch
wheels on it later on. It belongs to Craig Samuels from Poinciana and he
has done all this in his spare time. It was good to see Todd and Julie
out with their Monte Carlo. We miss them when they are not here. Bert
and Laverne, Don and Jackie, Pablo and Nilda, and Lynn were in their
usual spot, under the stairs, by the stage. And all was well for our
first cruise of the year. Our 50/50 was $38.00 and went to Cris from Ga.
See you all next week.
