What a night for a Cruise-In at the
"Square", even a Canadian Snowbird was out with us tonight. Bill Ashe,
in town for a few weeks, was one of the first to arrive in his '63
Parisienne, Bill Ellis was riding along with him, his '55 Chevy didn't
start. Tonight's line up continued with Paul in his Dodge Ram, Larry in
a '72 LT1 powered Chevrolet C-10 pickup. Roger "Scary Larry" had his
Mustang out, "Cousin John" in his '72 deVille, Joe & Kay brought out
their '72 Camaro, good to see them out on a Wednesday. Don R had his '68
Mustang Fastback parked next to the '67 Baldwin Motion SS427 Camaro that
"Big John" had just parked in the front row. Barry long time friend of
"Big John" was riding with him. Greg arrived in his '85 Camaro. Ron H in
his Model A Tudor parked in the West end of the front row. Kevin, KJ4AYR
stopped out to join us. Nick & Bob arrived, parking the '32 Ford and the
'68 SS396 Chevelle next to Greg's Camaro. Louie
then parked his '52 Ford next to Don's Mustang. Dick had to park his '65
Mustang 2+2 on the West side after Ron had taken the last spot in the
front row behind the trailer with his '61 Caddy. "Big Jim", in his
Pro-Street Berretta was followed into the lot by Dave in his '63 Avanti
that he has had since it was new. Roy backed his '64 Galaxie 500XL into
a spot one over from "Cousin John". Danny arrived to spend the Cruise
with Larry as he usually does. Brittney & Daniele the "Bites" staff were
quite busy feeding all of us. Pat & Alan, regulars, as spectators, were
out as usual but Alan wore long pants. Bill parked his Blazer next to
Ron's Model A.
It was a great night of visiting and catching up with
those that haven't been out in a while. I found out that
Barry was from the next town over from me in Wisconsin. Dave, who was
out in the Avanti just settled into Florida from Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Andy would then park his '79 deVille in it's place of honor, Steve would
park his deVille next to the '72 deVille. Bert arrived in his '66 Comet
wagon with some new "Chrome Goodies" under the hood and parked it next
to Steve's Caddy. Al would then chug his Model A into the lot and park
by Ron's 30 Tudor. Tony K4AVD, our Events Director emeritus, now living
in Wisconsin checked in over the radio. He and Sharon, WB4ACE wanted to
say "Hello to all at the Cruise-In and tell us that it warmed up to Zero
degrees today. The "Wookie" got the last parking spot way down at
the end. Mark would stop out in his Mazda Race Car, this one he will
race at Serbring. Then just after 7:00, George rolled that "Heirloom"
'61 Falcon in to the "Square" and found a spot that was vacated by the
last one to leave Robertson's Homes office. This could only mean that
the drawings were less than 45 minutes away. Dave & Jo Ellen with their
Avanti would sign up with us for both Cruise-In's, Welcome. Jo Ellen and
Jed would join him for a bite to eat as well.
This group of people would take the 50/50 to $53! Andy
Billitteri would have the wining ticket for it. He donated $10 back to
the Cruise-In, Thank You. The "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $20 next
week, Cruiser # 187, Francisco Hernandez, wasn't out in his 350 Chevy
powered Mazda tonight.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home in yet another Cadillac,
tonight Ron & Renee Adamson, Cruiser #169 were awarded it tonight.
It would have been 28 cars if Bill's Chevy would have
started.
Thank You to Chris and the whole Robertson family for
making us all feel at home.
On to a few photos.
Congratulations to the winners! Thank you all for coming
out.
See you all "Out There"
