Ted, KE4TTE, was to make his first Friday Nite Cruise today. Linda,
K4EIO and I, K4SLB along with T Rod, KI4GJS and John, KG4BFJ would head
out to be with him on this event. Mike, N4HHA was called out to an
emergency at his job and couldn't make it but he did call in on the
Radio.
Anyway, we all arrived at about the same time, Ted was dinning at
"Flippers" when we arrived. It was only a few minutes before the cars
would make their way on to the bricks. We visited with Bill &
Doris and the "Lineup" as well as Joe at the Gate. Linda & John would
ride to the parking spot with him. Joe told Ted that his car wouldn't
qualify for the Friday Nite event because his passenger wasn't allowed
on a Friday night. After a short panic Ted realized that Joe was just
kidding and that was his way of saying. "What's Linda doing out on a
Friday Nite?".
T Rod & I would walk down to the parking spot just 3 or so cars behind
Bill & Doris' S-10. We would visit with all of the staff that was
puzzled as to why we were out on a Friday, a few of them even checked
their calendars to see if it was Friday. We introduced Ted to as many
Cruisers that we could including Andy & The "Wookie" as well as the "Loosers"
that were in place by their favorite spot on the bricks. Just after
6:00, Gina, KE4VNV and Mary, Ted's wife and daughter came out to see
what it was all about.
Linda & I said our Goodbye's just before 7:00 and headed for home
leaving Ted to his own devices. Be sure and read the rest of the Friday
Nite report filed by Bill and Doris. It may be a while before you see us
on a Friday night, after all it is our Sci-Fi night on TV but for a
friend on their first night out, we couldn't miss part 1.
