It is another Friday and it is time for another Old Town Cruise. We
managed to get to Old Town before the weather turned soggy. Three trucks
were in line already. I guess we could call them the three
musketeers, better known as Tom, Buzz and Ken. Buzz had his wife Sue out
with him today. It is nice to see the wives come out and enjoy this
hobby, it makes it more of a family affair. We managed to get on the
brick street of Old Town and to the Steak House before the real storm
came through. After we got back out, we found some of the cruisers had
given up and went home. Bobby was the only one left parked in Block 4.
At least this kind of weather will separate the real cruisers from the
fair weather cruisers. We had 57 cruisers that braved the storm to come
out and show their beautiful vehicles. The spectator crowd was down
naturally but we still had quite a few Die Hards to join us for the
cruise.
There was no entertainment on stage tonight. They decided not to play
since the storm refused to go away. With the rain, it was hard to find
anyone near their cars. We did get to talk to Ricky Friddle. He lives in
Dundee, Fl and he is the proud owner of a 2005 white Mustang. He has
owned this car for a year and has added a Ford racing muffler, ruff
racing wheels, powder chrome valve covers and more. He has spent
$11,000.00 on this car since he has acquired it. He has been cruising 8
months on Friday.
It was good seeing Lynn Olson back in Florida after the loss of Clint.
We all miss him. She had her lovely daughter with her but they are
leaving in the morning. She will be back in October for the winter.
Many of the Chrysler Muscle cars were back on trophy row tonight. We
guess they are Die Hards to come out on a rainy night.
Our Cruise-O-Matic will go to $375.00 next week. Joe tried hard and even
pulled 8 numbers. Our 50/50 was $24.00 tonight and it went home with
Ovalle Quiros. He resides in Orlando.
See you all next week.
