Friday the 13th, a good night for a cruise?????? Yes, we are not
superstitious. We had a very good cruise with 112 cruisers coming out to
show their vehicles. The weather man even gave us a break. It was
raining all around Old-Town but we only had a few sprinkles. A few of
the early birds were out early but we know several are up North or
entertaining guests down here. After we got on the brick street of
Old-Town, it cleared up, some of the gang headed for Flippers but we
went back to the Steak House and were accompanied by Stan and Maryann
and Bobby. Bobby was a little late, there was an accident and the
traffic was backed up.
As we strolled around we saw George Pennachi who came out with his GMC
XL Yukon. It was good seeing him walking without his cane. He is also a
Saturday Night Cruiser with his Oldsmobile. He is very busy at Disney
working 12 hour shifts and 6 days a week, so don't get to come out very
often. Bert and Laverne Brown had informed us that they would be back as
a Saturday Night Cruiser. They are very well dedicated cruisers and we
miss them when they don't show up.
Doug Kendal, with the other regular Thunderbird, came out with his newly
acquired black 1978 El Camino. He purchased this vehicle from "Cousin
Vinney". He's not sure if he'll cruise his Thunderbird anymore. If not
it will be missed. Glen Allen from Kissimmee brought out his 1980
Mercury Bobcat again. It has a flat black paint which makes it easier to
maintain. He has been cruising about a year and got lucky tonight and
won a checkered flag. Congratulations.
One of our staff, the lovely Bratt, announced tonight that her and her
finance has set a wedding date. Congratulations and we wish them all the
best. And GOD bless. Allan is doing a very good job announcing and
getting all the staff in the picture. Tonight he had Nikki introduce the
flag winners. And she did a very good job of it. He also has all the
staff sign off with a good night. He is trying to get everyone involved
and that is great. We have a nice cruising family here. Come out and try
it sometime and you will enjoy it.
Our cruiser of the month is Jon and Angie Strode. This honor was
bestowed upon them for the month of July. We want to congratulate them
as they get to lead our cruise for two more weeks.
Our 50/50 was won by ticket number 10892. The lucky winner was Rob. He
was very generous and donated the $37.00 back to charity. We want to
thank him for his generosity. Our cruise-O-Matic goes to $225.00 next
week. No takers tonight.
See you all next week.
