June 29th
Rain, rain started out Friday Night Cruise. It did not last very long
and is very much needed, we could have had a lot more than what we got.
We had a big crowd for a change. As we got to our spot there was already
4 cars in line for the cruise. Then the rain came. When it was time to
go to the steak house my wife and I were they only ones to show up.
Bobby was late getting there. Sue was out for the first time in a long
time, it was good to have her here. Richard Stewart has resigned his
position at Old Town he will be greatly missed. Allan Litts has taken
over on both Friday and Saturday nights. It was good to have Dave and
his wife back from up north they are celebrating their 26th anniversary,
good for them not many people make it that long. Doug was back with us
tonight he has been working on Fridays with the school and could not
make it out to cruise. Good to have him back. We had 122 cars tonight.
The Close Proximity Band was on stage. They had a good crowd and lots of
dancers. We missed the Dukes down on block 4, hope to see them back on
Friday nights real soon. Auto Zone is one of the new sponsors for Friday
night with a $50.00 gift card which was won by Bobby. No one won the
Cruise-O-Matic it will be $175.00 for next Friday night. The $40.00
50-50 went to Angie Strobe.
Our thoughts are with Bill and Doris with the death of her brother, you
were greatly missed tonight. Have a safe trip, we look forward to your
return.
