The last Friday Night Cruise for the month of May was another safe and
enjoyable event. Thanks to Joe, Richard and all our capable staff. We
had a full house of regular cruisers by 5 o'clock. Buzz was early as
usual then followed by Stan and Maryann, Tom, Joe, Ken, Don and Jackie.
Weather was ideal for a cruise, although it was threatening for awhile.
The cruisers were busy cleaning love bugs off their vehicles. We guess
it does give us something to occupy our minds while we are waiting. Joe
and Lee let us in a few minutes early tonight. Joe said it would make up
for the times he was a few minutes late. After we found our parking
places we headed for the Steak House on the corner. We had quite a bit
of company tonight, at least a dozen cruisers decided to eat at the
Steak House with us.
It was good to see Maryann and Stan, with their little blue Pacer, back
from vacation. We miss them when they are not here. Ursula and George,
with their yellow (Mama Bahama) Aveo Chevy, were out cruising tonight.
They have not been out to cruise for awhile. They had their son and his
family out with them. We spotted a beautiful 1985 Cadillac. We could not
find the owner but we welcome him to our cruise. We also had 8 or so
members from the Mid Florida Corvette Club out tonight. They come to
visit us from time to time. They are always welcome. Also the FLXC Club
were out.
Bert and Laverne are going to Indiana for a two week vacation. We sure
hope they make it this time. We will miss them and we hope they have a
safe trip. Also it was good to see Paul Harrold with his 87 Black Grand
National back tonight. His wife was operated on and we hope she has a
speedy recovery. This is the last night for Larry and Cris Day as
Cruiser of the Month. Larry was
awarded his jacket tonight and he also bought one for Cris. They both
modeled their beautiful jackets for us. They looked great.
Congratulations to both of them. We can't reveal the cruiser of the
month for June right now.
See us next week and you will get the rest of the
story. We had a marching band from New Port News, Virginia to lead our
129 beautiful cruisers. We had a very good turnout of spectators to
enjoy Old-Town this evening.
Our 50/50 of $56.00 was won by Tom Thompson from
Maine. He was on vacation and had the winning ticket (08128). Our
Cruise-O-Matic will go to $50.00 as Joe was unable to give it away
tonight.
