May 11th

A Friday night has come and gone and you could not ask for a better day to have a car cruise. Where we generally congregate, there was a nice breeze. We were early but Buzz always gets there before we do. A lot of the regulars came in one by one later. We did get a few drops of rain before 5 O'clock.

Our friend Dave Garceau will be heading North with his wife Bev. They will be gone for 5 weeks. We hope they have a safe trip and we will miss seeing them at the Cruise. Ken Keel brought out his Dodge Caravan instead of his International truck. He was back in the hospital again this week. He was riding around in his scooter tonight. We hope he has a full  recovery soon. He sure did make our cruiser Joe Ness happy tonight. He brought him a tailgate for his Ford Ranger. He even painted it for him. Thanks Ken for such a fine deed.  Mr. Pontiac had some back luck this past week. He was blowing some leaves off the roof and fell around 8 feet. Lucky he did not break any bones but sure is awful sore. We sure hope he gets feeling better.

We had another first time cruiser tonight. Bill Denonn from St. Cloud brought out his black/gold 1979 w30 Hurst/Olds. It has a 350 engine and the air conditioner still works. He is the third owner of this beautiful car. We spotted this nice 2001 Gray Ford Cobra. Tony Roman of St. Cloud is the proud owner and he bought this one new. He has been a spectator at Old-Town for 4 years.

Allan had to fill in as the emcee tonight at the last moment. It was a little confusing but they got the cruise in on time. But you did a good job Allan.

We want to thank Old-Town for having the cruisers and all the ones that sponsor this event. We also want to thank the staff for keeping things running smooth. "Where's Rooben" was on stage entertaining us tonight. A 122 cruisers came out to show their beautiful vehicles. Remember if you are just a spectator or have a car that you are proud of, come on out and enjoy our cruise with us. We will all welcome you.

Our Cruise-O-Matic was $200.00 tonight. Joe had 6 numbers pulled but no takers tonight.  Our 50/50 of $52.00 went to ticket holder 07346. The lucky guy holding this ticket was Ramon Quiros from Deland. He had bought 3 tickets. Congratulations

See you all next week!
