As we headed down 27 today we sure did pass a lot of motorcycles heading
north. we guess Leesburg will have a very successful bike weekend. We
encountered some rain clouds but no rain on the way down. All Old-Town
got was a few sprinkles. Quite a few of our regulars were not out
tonight but we had a full line of early birds by 5 o'clock. Dave Skord
had his car out but had to work so did not get to cruise the brick
street at 9 o'clock. We want to congratulate him and his wife Esther,
they celebrated their 26 wedding anniversary this past Wednesday. We
hope they have many more.
Tom Higgins was back with us
tonight with his Mustang. He has not been out for awhile. Block 4 did
not have very many cruisers, however we still had 127 vehicles to cruise
the brick street of Old Town. Thanks to all who joined us
Ken Keel was back with us tonight. He had another
operation on his back. That did not hinder him from full filling one of
his greatest ambitions. He wanted to go to Plains, GA for the Bobby
Salter's Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show. It was held April 21-07 and
Sponsored by Tommy Mc's Country Store, Albany, GA. This was shortly
after his operation and maybe he should not of went but he was
determined to get there. He not only got there but his
Internationaltruck won a trophy for Best of show. These awards were
handed out by former President Jimmy Carter. Ken had met Jimmy before
when he was in the army. Of course, Ken had to stand at attention then.
This was a much more social meeting. He had pictures to show us of the
show and his meeting the former President again. Billy Carter's 1979
Chevrolet pickup won the Presidential Trophy Award. This goes to show
you what determination and a strong will can do for you. He was out to
cruise with us tonight. We know he was hurting but you cannot keep a
good man down. He assured us that trip made his day. Hang in there Ken.
This was Ken Tiggleman's last night to cruise as
Cruiser Of The Month. You did a good job Ken. Thanks. He also received
his jacket tonight.
The High School Band from Spencer, MA led our cruise
tonight. Thanks for visiting us.
Our Cruise-O-Matic will go to $200.00 next week. Joe
could not give it away.
Our 50/50 was won by ticket 07124 which was bought by Ernie from
Kissimmee. He took home $75.00.
