March 30th

Rain all around us but we had a beautiful night for our last cruise of March. We had to miss last weeks cruise and it sure is good to be back with our Friday Night Cruise and our family of friends. We want to thank Stan for filling in for us. He did a very good job with the help of Maryann. We arrived a little bit early but Stan and Wolfman were already there. Shortly after, Ken then Tom (finally got his green truck on the road), Bert and Laverne and Don and Jackie in their Vette. Then a full line of early birds, waiting for 5 o’clock to get on the brick street of Old-Town. We had a few sprinkles of rain from time to time. We guess the threat of rain kept some of our cruisers away, but 103 cruisers paid no attention to the weather, and came out to cruise with us. Thank you all. After the steak house where Stan, Ralph and Shirley and Bobby joined us we went out to look and fellowship with our cruising friends.

Ron Vandervliet and his wife from Flagler County brought his corvette out to show for the first time. This little beauty is a reproduction 82nd Indianapolis 500 official pace car. It is radar blue and Ron is the second owner.

It was good to have Howard and Jim cruise again with us tonight. They have not been out much lately. Howard usually has his pet parrot on his shoulder. George is still on his crutches but finds time to come out and cruise with us. We hope he continues to mend and get off those crutches. Dave Garceau joined us again tonight. He seems to be mending very well from his operation.

Joe presented cruiser of the month jackets to Dave Garceau, Bert and Laverne Brown and Paul Harrold who were cruisers of the month for Jan, Feb and March. These were Valvoline jackets and they were black, red and white. Very nice and we thank Valvoline for being one of our sponsors. We have a new cruiser of the month next week but Joe wasn’t telling who it is.

Our 50/50 was won by Bill Thompson from Michigan number 05443. He took home $66.00. Our Cruise-O-Matic will have to go to $75.00 next week. Joe tried 6 no’s tonight, but no winner.

See you all next week
