February 9th
.
The early birds were very slow coming in tonight. It looked like Stan
and Our T-Bird were going to be the only ones but Joe Ness and Dave came
in later. By 5 o’clock we had a full line of cars. We parked on the
brick street as usual but the late comers had to park behind A & W.
Thanks to our reliable staff we had plenty of parking space but it is
not like trophy row. Some of our regular cruisers did not show because
of the crowded condition. This is because the Chevy Show is in for the
weekend. We looked them over and they sure had some beautiful cruisers.
They never looked this good when they were new.
Dave Skord had his car out tonight but he did not get to cruise, he
worked directing the cruisers. We want to thank Bob Butler for bringing
the cruise papers for us. He will be off on vacation for two weeks. He
is going to the Keys and plans on doing some fishing. We hope he has a
nice trip and nice weather. Sort of wish we were going with him. After
our evening meal at the Steak House, we went back to the stage and found
some new entertainment. The Davenport School Of The Arts were there to
put on a dance show. These kids were from the elementary and middle
school. They were very good and attracted a large audience. Everyone was
well pleased with their act.
We are going to miss Bert and Laverne cruising on Saturday Night. He
sold his Cadillac. He is our Friday Night Cruiser Of The Month, doing a
good job.
The Cube was scheduled for our entertainment tonight but did not show
up, so we had no band tonight. But there is always plenty to do at
Old-Town.
Two of our staff girls are having a birthday this week. They are Nikki
and Sarah. We want to wish them a happy birthday and many more of them.
We had 142 cruisers that came out to cruise the brick street of
Old-Town. We were third in line and parked behind Sun on the Beach. We
got to watch most of the remaining cruise.
Our 50/50 was $40.00, ticket no. 02817 was bought by Jason Merrin from
Plant city. He bought one ticket and that was enough. Joe gave away our
Cruise-O-Matic tonight. The $175.00 went to cruiser Patrick Simpson who
has been cruising since May. Congratulations.
See you all next week.
