January 26th

With the temperature at 39 degrees this morning, we thought it would be a lot colder for our cruise. It was a beautiful clear day and with a light coat, it was comfortable. The way a few of the tourists were dressed, you would think it was summer. Will I guess it feels like summer to them. We arrived there early just to socialize and the early birds were a little slow coming in. We guess the cooler weather kept a lot of our regulars away. By 5 o’clock Stan with his Pacer, Dave with his Mercury, and Dave (Cruiser of the Month) and of course Don and Jackie with their Corvette joined us in line. Also there was Dean Worster from Auburndale with his beautiful 2 tone (yellow and tan) 1976 Thunderbird. This car was purchased by Dean in 1980 and he is the second owner. It is all original except for the continental kit and hood scoop. It has a 460 engine and c6 transmission. This cruiser is spotless inside and out. Good job Dean.

As we waited for 5 o’clock, we took a stroll down the brick street and found some new entertainment. On block 4 there was a magician show in progress. He had quite a few spectators and was good at what he did. It was good to see some good entertainment on the street again. After we parked and had our evening meal we visited all our cruisers. We enjoy all these cruisers and the fellowship we have at Old-Town. At 7:30 we enjoyed the T-Birds on stage. This is one of our favorite bands. By that time we had most of our 117 cruisers signed in. Bratt was kept busy but she is doing a fine job. We are glad she joined the cruise staff. Andy and Ed came in late and did not get their spot on block 4.

It was good to see Becky out with her daughter and grandson who just came in from Puerto Rico. We hope they enjoy their stay and come back soon.

Our Cruise-O-Matic will have to go to $150.00 next week. Joe just could not give it away tonight. One of our cruisers (Roger Rindels) from Davenport won the 50/50. He took home $38.00.

See you all next week.
