"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

December 6th

Here I go with another weather report. Hmmm, am I trying to sell the fact that we can Cruise 12 months a year? Well, YES! Why not. The temperature was about 10 degrees above the seasonal average, bright Sun, dry air, a beautiful fall day. Linda & I headed out for the Cruise-In a little early, we thought the traffic might be a little heavy and it was. However we did arrive just before 4:00. Bill, N2WFU was in his Corvette right behind us with Ande, W2HDF along with the pack of Cruising Dog's, Trevor, Mr. Lucky, Frisbee and Tila, I had her name wrong last week but she forgave me. Jack was already at the Sonic and his '29 Model A Sport Coupe, "Old Yeller", just back from getting a new rear end, was setting in his favorite spot. Some dolt was parked right in the middle of the area where the DJ rig was to be set up, so we had to improvise a bit on the parking. He didn't come to get the truck out of the way until after 6:00. Bob was out in his SSR wearing the Santa hat. James beat him to his favorite parking spot with his first generation Firebird convertible. Steve Mc, K4SKM had his latest '29 Model A Sport coupe out. Paul was in his Dodge Ram. Ron A parked his Caddy right where he likes it. Louie in his '52 Ford was next to him. Bert & "Ernie" were out in the '66 Comet Wagon. Joe was out in his '40 Chevy, Scott had a "Scott Rod" roadster. Ed & Sarah debuted "Maybelline", their '62 Corvair Coupe. Neil & Elaine were out in the '62 Healey. "Bo" had his Corvair next to it. Bob parked his '36 Ford Humpback next to our Corvair. Larry had his Galaxie 500 next to the '66 Comet wagon. Harold and Carole, snowbirds that we haven't seen for a few years, came out in their Mustang convertible.

We even spotted Tommy and Mary visiting with all. Coy helped Mike set up cones. Dana came out to harass everyone as usual. Dan Z, in yet another Willys was joined by Bob with his '68 Chevelle SS396 and Nick in his '32 Deuce Coupe along 13th Street. Later Ron S would back his '41 Packard into a spot. "Big Jim" was out in his '67 Chevelle. There were many spectators out tonight, including Laura, KI4ZJX that traveled from Lakeland to join in with us as she has done for a few weeks now.

Jim & Shirley were out in their vintage F-85 convertible. I spotted Jeff & Tara along with Don M that should have his Corvair convertible ready in a few weeks. Stephen was out in his 'Vette. Tony "Looser#2" was in his 'Vette, we even saw Marlene for a few minutes. The crowd was a little lighter than last week but still a great Cruise-In. Tonight George wasn't the last to arrive, it was Hank in his "Baja Bug", he backed it in about the time the drawings started. Next week will be our last Thursday Cruise-In for 2007. We give back the parking lot to Wal-Mart for the Holiday Season.

I presented Bill with his December 2007 Cruiser of the Month cap provided by, "Embroidery by Renee" he will receive his plaque next week.

Our shoppers tonight were Coy & "Ernie". There were the usual prizes from "Beef O'Bradys" and "Bites" along with the dinner for 2 from "Whistle Junction". Randall Strickland, Cruiser # 357, a Cruiser that signed up tonight with his '66 Ford F100 had the winning ticket for the $88 50/50. Congratulations and Welcome.

Doug Kendel, Cruiser # 639, wasn't out tonight so the "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $50.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home with Larry Robinson, Cruiser #357 in his '64 Ford Galaxie.

As always a Big Thank You! To:

The BOA (Bank) Staff for using the spots along 13th Street - AutoZone - Beef O’Brady’s  - Sonic -  Saint Cloud NAPA - Whistle Junction and all those that continue to support our Cruise-In with Prizes. To “Mustang Mike” for entertaining us every week.
