Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot

November 29th

"Corvette Thursday", the "Mid-Florida Corvette Club" brought out nearly 2 dozen of the Great American Sports Car to tonight's event. Unfortunately they didn't arrive until after the sun had gone down so I couldn't get any good photos but they were out in full force. "Big John" even brought out a Corvette, a great looking low mileage '66 Stingray.

Now lets go back to the beginning of tonight's Cruise-In, Linda & I were the first to arrive in our '61 Corvair. Bill, N2WFU, in the retired NYPD Cruiser, along with the boy's Trevor & Mr. Lucky. Riding with them was Ande, W2HDF with his 2 first time cruising dogs, Frisbee & Shirley, Virginia, W2VEJ would join them later. Ron would bring his '61 Caddy next and back it into his favorite spot. Paul backed his '58 DeSoto under his favorite tree. Larry parked his '64 Galaxie 500 across from us. Nicky "Bop" only took 2 tries to wedge his "32 Ford Coupe  into it's parking spot. Jean, joined Paul under the tree. "Scary Larry" would park his Mustang behind Ron's Caddy. Ron H stopped by the lot with his Model A in a trailer, he had been providing a Car Service for a couple from Northern Ireland that was married out at Disney World. He later came back with his '53 Chevy. Coy helped Mike with the cones. The night looked like it was going to be a big one.

There was a 20% chance of rain but that didn't stop Bob in his SSR, Bob in his '41 Buick or even Chris from Palm Bay in his newly acquired '76 Vette from coming out. Bill had his '81 Blazer in it's place of honor. "Cousin John" had his Caddy next to John & Jonathan's '68 Camaro, Ken's "Car Lot" and 8 track sales was open next to us. Ed & Sarah in the '70 "Shortbox" was parked next to Roger's '48 Chevy pickup. Chuck, N4MOR had his '57 Chevy Bel Air down in "Hot Rod Row". I even spotted Scot in his "Scott Rod". Jimmy was wandering around visiting with all. Ed & Evelyn in her "64 Corvair and Tom & Edna were in the '58 Buick were near Paul. John in his Mustang parked next to "Bo" in his Corvair convertible. Doc brought out the Mach 1, Suzanne would join him later. Bob Parked his '68 Chevelle along 13th Street, Nick joined him in the '32 Ford Coupe, Fran was in the Camaro. Fenne joined them for the evening. Jack had one of his many cars out tonight, it was a rare '78 AMC Concorde with a 4 speed. The Crawford's had the F85 out tonight. Mark was even out in his '62 Chevy. The "Looser's" were out, both #1 & #2 and they even have added #3.  Graham, G4HFG, was even with us via the Radio, I didn't even have time to give him a proper report before it was too late in the UK, sorry. "Big George" and "Little George" were back out with us again. Alan was out in his VW Sandrail, Hank was in his "Baja Bug". Ron S was even out in his '37 Ford. What a night it was. Regular spectators from last winter, Dennis and Fancine along with Pat & Allan were right up front for the entertainment, you could even here Dana singing from the trailer. Bob who had parked his '36 Humpback Ford was assisting as usual in the trailer. Dan Z had to park his Edsel so that he could show off his new Caddy tail lights. Dick was out in the white 2+2 Mustang.

It was impossible to remember everyone that made it out tonight, a great time with friends and a great show for those that happened into our event. Roger F was out, after his surgery, not even fully healed he was hobbling even less than before. He sat by Bert & Ernie that were out in their '66 Comet wagon.

Ande Guilmet, W2HDF, the spectator that rode out with Bill, N2WFU, was holding the winning ticket for the $138 50/50 he donated $5 back to the Cruise-In.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home in "Scary Larry's" 1986 Mustang 5.0 convertible with Roger Knight, Cruiser #514.
