"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

November 1st

It was officially a rainout, no awards or drawings. However there were several cars out, even a few visitors from out of the country. When Linda & I left our house it was raining quite hard. All day long we had bands of rain passing over us. It didn't look good for this evenings event. Bob and Elmer, his brother from up north, were already in place with the SSR when we arrived just after 4:00. The Sun was shining brightly for the moment. Just one car was blocking the area where "Mustang Mike" likes to set up the DJ rig. He arrived just after 4:30, just after the latest "Misting" from Mother Nature. Paul rolled his DeSoto into the lot shortly after that. Ron A came in the back with his '61 Caddy and parked in his favorite spot just as the Sun came out again. Ralph & Shirley stopped by and dropped off a Free Pizza voucher from the "King of Pizza" that opened up across the street, the rain started again, more of a drizzle with a lot of wind pushing it. Coy, a regular spectator and friend of the Cruise came out. Ken parked his "Car Lot" next to us. He joined us at the Sonic for a bite to eat. Steve Mc phoned to see if it was a go or not, it was raining hard at his house. John, Lisa & Jonathan arrived in their '68 Camaro. Bo was in his Corvair. Nick & Fran arrived in their Camaro. George and George arrived in the Olds. Pat & Allan, friends of the Cruise, also joined us under the canopy. I wandered off to see who else was in the lot. Doc & Suzanne arrived in the "Tater Truck". The "Wookie" backed his "Heartbreaker" '83 Mustang next to Ron's Caddy. The "Poinciana Kid" was spotted in his Camaro. Bob arrived in his '68 SS396 Chevelle. David, son of Graham, G4HFG, and his mate Maria, in town for the week from Manchester, England stopped out to see the Cruise-In. I chatted with them for a while, I called Graham on the radio to tell him they were doing well on their vacation. Bob N brought out his newly repaired daily driver. Neil & Elaine were out in their daily driver. Steve Mc did stop out but he was in a daily driver. Al chugged his Model A into the parking lot just before Mike decided to call it a rainout. "Cousin Vinney" was driving up and down the rows. Hank made it into the lot about the time we were all leaving. We sure tried to Cruise but it just wasn't in the cards tonight.

John, Lisa & Jonathan Dilullo, Cruiser # 390 are our November "Cruiser of the Month" with their '68 Camaro SS.

Our Holiday schedule was determined three weeks ago that the Thursday Night Cruise-In will take Thanksgiving off as usual and the 20th and 27th of December. Wednesday Nite Cruise will only take the 26th of December off.
