"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

September 27th

The weatherman said we would have good weather tonight, sure hope he was right. Linda and I headed out for the Sonic as usual. We arrived just after 4:00. Roger, "Scary Larry" brought out "Mustang Mike's" DJ rig and he and Dana would be subbing for him tonight. Mike had gotten some terrible news this morning, his Son-in-Law, Brad Raver, was murdered at his home early this morning. Mike would be spending time with his family this evening. That is another story for another newspaper. Any time a cruiser has a loss of a family member we all feel it a little bit. To lighten the mood, Roger had a "ROGER" sign made to put over Mike's name. It worked.

Bill, N2WFU, Virginia W2VEJ, Trevor and Mr. Lucky were the first to arrive in their 'Vette. They are back for the season. Ron rolled his Caddy into the lot for the first time in a few weeks, he & Rene were up North visiting and a few car shows as well. Welcome back to recuperating Bob B. and his SSR. Paul had his DeSoto under the shade tree, Jean, Don and Bill would join him. Steve Mc was out in the Willys, yesterday was his birthday. 47 again! "Cousin John" was out in his Caddy, Louie followed him into the lot in his '52 Ford. Tony & Marianne backed their "Black Beauty" in next to the 'Vette. Nicky "Bop" was out in his '55 Chevy. Bob was back in the trailer selling tickets, he had the '36 Ford parked behind it. "Bo" was out in his Corvair. Ed & Evelyn debuted their '64 Corvair coupe. Tom & Edna had the 8 door Greenbrier out. Ed & Sarah had the "Sort Box" Chevy parked down by them. Roger and Larry had the '54 Vicky and the '56 Chevy parked side by side. Ralph & Shirley even stopped by early for a visit. James parked his Firebird in the front row. Nick & Fran brought out the 5 Window coupe and the Camaro. Bob parked his '68 Chevelle where he likes it. The George's were out in the '86 Cutlass. Doc & Suzanne were out in the "Tater Truck". Jonathan was out in his SS Camaro. A dozen or so of the Mid-Florida Corvette Club were out tonight. Always good to see them join in. Just about all of the "Die Hards" were out tonight and many more. Roy in his Galaxie, "Looser #1", I mean Ed & Sheri were out in the 'Vette. Ray & Bonnie in their '56 Lincoln were parked across from John's 6 Wheeled Suzuki. Not only did we have a lot of cars tonight the spectators were in good numbers as well. Dave & Bailey, "The Cruising Dog" had sad news about Tippy the other Cruising dog, he didn't make it through some surgery yesterday, he will be missed. Dave is moving back to the Ft. Lauderdale area this weekend so the "Pony Drive" Mustang won't be Cruising with us for a while.

It is so good to see all of the Cruisers come out. Only problem is I start to loose track of how they arrived and sometimes who was actually out. Allan, from Old Town stopped by for a visit. He hopes to bring out that '57 Chevy real soon. Barbara and most of the regulars from the family were out as well. Always makes for a good night when there is a few kids at the Cruise-In. Dave & Arlene arrived just before Cruise end in the T-Bird that he just finished. To dark for photos tonight. I'll get one tomorrow maybe.

"Mustang Mike" made his way back for the drawings. Roger took down the paste over of "Mustang Roger" off the DJ rig. Beware Mike, he is going to keep that sign handy. Roger did a good job entertaining us. Dana wasn't sure if he was over here or over der. Allan, regular spectator and friend to the Cruise-In did the shopping, a good job again.

Al Wendling, Cruiser # 80, had the winning ticket for the 50/50 that had grown to $115. He donated some back to both the Cruise-In and this newsletter, Thanks Al!

The "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $125 next week, Craig & Mary Schielke, # 564, were not out tonight.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home in a 1956 Lincoln Capri with Ray & Bonnie White, Cruiser # 374.

BTW the weatherman got it right! No rain and a great time had by all.

As always a Big Thank You! To:
