"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

August 16th

It was a beautiful day for a Cruise-In, the turn out should be a little bigger despite the heat. Tonight we would draw "Cruise-A-Matic" numbers until there is a winner. We arrived very early tonight, we had been running some errands on the way and it didn't take as long as expected. It also didn't take us long to take refuge to a table at the Sonic, with a fan blowing down on us. "Mustang Mike" was also setting up by 4:00. Bob arrived in his SSR at the same time Ron backed his Caddy in the spot on the first corner. Bob joined us at the table almost immediately.

Among the early arrivals were Paul with his DeSoto, Bill in his Blazer, Rich & Becky stopped by for a few minutes, I didn't get a chance to talk to them. Nicky "Bop" tried his usual 3 or 4 times to get the '32 Ford parked in it's place.  Tony & Marianne had the "Black Beauty", their '71 Monte Carlo SS parked in their favorite spot. Roger had his '56 Chevy by Bill's Blazer. Ralph & Shirley stopped by for a visit. "Bo" had his Corvair just where he likes it. Louie had his '50 Ford out tonight, it needs a little exercise while he is working on it. Cousin John was out in his daily driver. Bob parked his Chevelle in row 3, Nick parked the 5 Window coupe in its place of honor. Doc brought out the "Tater Truck", Suzanne would join him later. Ed, Evelyn & Michelle would come out in the daily driver. Ed & Sarah in the '70 "Shorbox" would park across from us. Mike & Kristen would park the '64 Corvair convertible next to us. The "Wookie" was out in the "Heart Breaker". "Scary Larry" and Harry were at the corner with Ron. Ed, Looser #1, & Sherry were out in their 'Vette, Ron had his Model A down in the shade, next to Tom & Dianne's Model A pickup, Al would join them later in his Model A. Later we would see Bob & Peg in their Pontiac parked in row 3. Young Josh just loved the cars and would explain what he could about his Mustang. We welcomed new Cruisers to our event, Tim & Kim and their '68 Mustang, John & Terri and their '67 Mustang and Michael in his '64 Pontiac Catalina. It was a very good Cruise-In, "Big john" was spotted in his daily driver, Mark sat with him and Jim who was out in his GTO. Roy was in his "64 Galaxie and George would arrive in his '61 Falcon just after 7:00.

Allan would do tonight's shopping and a fine job he did. Bob Butler gave me a case of Oil that I donated to the drawing. Thank you Bob. Nicky "Bop" was in rare form tonight, he was smart enough to keep out of Marianne's reach or she would have taken care of him a little better. It was a great night for friends, family and spectators. "Mustang Mike" mentioned that all 9 cars that made it to "Whistle Junction" all took home prizes. Join in next month on the second Monday. Harry Di Martino, Cruiser #388 had the winning 50/50 ticket. he donated $20 back to the Cruise-In from his $85 jackpot. It only took 2 dips into the tumbler to give away the $300, "Cruise-A-Matic", the first one taken out actually had my number with it, Mike didn't see it but the one called was #618, belonging to the, Not At The Cruise-In tonight, Bob Pancake... AWWW. The next and winning number was #675, Bailey! ah I mean, Dave Turnbull. Earlier when Dave just won a regular prize Bailey stayed in his chair, he heard this was money so he had to help receive it. Next week we start over at $25. This week was the closest I have ever been to winning it. Dave donated some of the winning to this Newsletter, Thank You.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home in an Orange '68 Chevelle SS396, Bob & Marge Berube, Cruiser # 622.

As always a Big Thank You! To:
