"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

July 5th

The weather would keep most Cruisers away. About 20 or so would actually stay to the end. So I really don't know what to call it. Half Cruise? Half Rain Out? Or a lesson for the pessimists? It was still a good night out with friends.

It was raining heavily when "Mustang Mike" and I talked on the phone at 3:30. He decided that he would come over in his Truck and leave the trailer at home. See, who would show up, if anyone. Linda & I arrived just after 4:00 and parked under the canopy at the Sonic. The rain had let up in this part of town but it did look like we would get more. John, KG4BFJ, had been ahead of us on the highway and said it was pouring at Indiana and 13th just a few blocks away to the West. Bob was the first to arrive in his SSR. The 3 of us headed for the Sonic for something to eat and wait to see if anyone was going to show up. It didn't take long and Ron parked his Caddy in his favorite spot. Roger, actually in a Cruiser!, parked it next to him. Troy arrived in his Camaro. Then Bob in his '68 Chevelle followed by Nick in his '32 Ford with Ashley and Daniel, Fran would join them later. The 3 Stooges parked the '64 Corvair, the '65 Mustang and the '36 Ford "Humpback" next to one another. Mike & Kristen arrived in their '64 Corvair, and parked under the canopy. John, KG4BFJ, arrived and joined us at the sonic. A little while later we would move the 2 Corvairs to our favorite spots. Roy showed up in his '64 Ford convertible. Doc came out in Suzanne's Charger. Dick & Jackie came out in the daily driver, still working on his 2+2. Hank was out in his Baja Bug. Al parked his Model A next to us. Paul was out in his daily driver, Bill in his Blazer. We all wanted to have a 50/50 so "Mustang Mike" and Bob headed to get the trailer.

We had entertainment for the last hour, it is always a lot of fun when ever we get together. Because of the small turn out we decided not to advance the "Cruise-Matic" or choose a "Cruiser of the Week" and just give all of the proceeds out in the 50/50 drawing. $45 was split into 5 prizes along with the regular "Beef O'Bradys" and Whistle Junction giveaways and one drawing for the other $45. Not bad for a small group!

Kristen, Cruiser #456, who also appeared on last weeks cover had the winning ticket for the $45. Congratulations.

"Mustang Mike" reminded us of the Whistle Junction Cruise on Monday night and mentioned that Lenny's would like to have a monthly on a different Monday as well. Then he told us about the "Main Street Grill" Cruise on the 3rd Saturday Downtown Saint Cloud.

As always a Big Thank You! To:

The BOA (Bank) Staff for using the spots along 13th Street - AutoZone - Beef O’Brady’s  - Sonic -  Sonny’s (Pleasant Hill Road) - Saint Cloud NAPA - Whistle Junction and all those that continue to support our Cruise-In with Prizes. To “Mustang Mike” for entertaining us every week.

Here are a few photos.

Congratulations to the winners, Thank You to all of you that came out tonight.

See you all "Out There"
