"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

July 12th

Wild and Wet, had to say it that way so I wouldn't infringe on any Trade Names but it was! Lots of close lightening greeted us just after we arrived at the Sonic about 4:15 in the recently washed "Elvira", our '60 Ranchero. It was her first time to a Cruise-In since April, the technical problems have been repaired so we can now get back to alternating our cars. Mike, N4HHA, and daughter Kristen had already been parked in place but managed to get the top up on their Corvair and head for cover under the canopy of the Sonic. "Mustang Mike" arrived just after we did, he was able to park in the regular spot for the DJ rig, thanks again to the co-ordination of the Bank. John, in his '72 deVille parked in place. Then as quickly as the Thunderstorm came it left! We went to the Sonic to eat and see how many would be coming out, whether or not we were even going to have the show tonight. While we were eating Ron parked his Caddy right where he likes it. Dave arrived in the AngliaDub, Bob arrived from Poinciana in his SSR. Steve & Amanda joined in on eats at the Sonic. Bob N was out in the daily driver straight from work. Then the other 2 Stooges. "Bo" in his Corvair and John in his Mustang. Paul left the DeSoto at home, Roger parked his Mustang next to Ron A. Bert & "Ernie" were out in the StepSide with news of the latest Cruiser that they are picking up from Double D. A '67 Comet Station wagon, I kind of had my eye on that one. Dave & Arlene stopped out in the '53 Stude, wrecker. Ron H came out in his Model A Tudor. Bob, in his '68 Chevelle had Nick, Daniel and Ashley with him. Nick had just polished up all the chrome and it would have been a mess. Later Fran would join them. Louie pulled his '52 Customline in to the lot followed by Bill in his Blazer. Nicky "Bop" brought out his Banana, the Corvette tonight. Jon & Jonathan were parked next to him in their '68 Camaro, so that is what changed Jonathan's luck. Steve Mc finally got to bring his '41 Willys pickup to the Thursday event. Doc parked just down from him in the "Tater Truck". Dick, who was out on his bike again tonight said he hoped to have the Mustang back on the road next week. Al parked his Model A next to us. Gary & Wanda had the "Remember When" down in "Hot Rod" row. Taylor and Aubrey were with them. Roy arrived a little later in his '64 Ford convertible. Hank, once again on his way to work managed to join us for the last hour or so in his Baja Bug. Mark, in his Hot Rod Model A minus the vacationing Beau and Lois that was working. Roger was out in his daily driver. Jean had news on her '36 Ford. It should be back on the road by October, I can't wait to see it. A few others made their way out, sorry if I didn't get to mention you all but we sure appreciate all that came out on such a nite.

By now the wedding cake was being cut and served photos were being passed around from their "Vegas Wedding", like Mike said Doc cleans up pretty good! "Doc" and Suzanne looked so very happy sharing their joyous occasion with us all. We all felt very privileged that they consider us as family. Wedding photos and a guest book will be online at www.docsperformanceshop.com/7/7/7 as soon as they get them to me.

The drawings once again were for all of the cash and a few regular food prizes donated by "Beef O'Bradys" and "Whistle Junction". $70 was split into several prizes starting at $20 then working to $5. Al Wendling, Cruiser, #80, was the lucky holder of the ticket that won the $70 half, he donated $5 to the Cruise and $5 to this newsletter. Thanks, Al!

Cruiser #648, Rick Pearce, would have been $200 richer tonight, his number was drawn for the "Cruise-A-Matic" but he wasn't out tonight, Awwwww. Next Week, $225 will be drawn for.

Roy & Judy Fitz, Cruiser #35, in their '64 Ford Galaxie convertible was chosen as "Cruiser of the Week".

We didn't get any rain during the event, it was great! One can never tell by what the weatherman says.

As always a Big Thank You! To:

The BOA (Bank) Staff for using the spots along 13th Street - AutoZone - Beef O’Brady’s  - Sonic -  Sonny’s (Pleasant Hill Road) - Saint Cloud NAPA - Whistle Junction and all those that continue to support our Cruise-In with Prizes. To “Mustang Mike” for entertaining us every week.

Here are a few photos.

Congratulations to the winners, Thank You to all of you that came out tonight.

See you all "Out There"
