With a 70% chance of rain for today, we headed for Saint Cloud, the
skies looked like it wasn't going to happen tonight. "Mustang Mike"
called me on the phone while we were driving through some drizzle. The
"Bank Cars" were not only blocking his favorite spot but the alternate
spot along 13th Street. Mike, N4HHA called to ask if I thought it was
going to go on. When we arrived we parked under the canopy at the Sonic
to see what might transpire. Mike parked where he could to wait and see
what the weather was going to do and to see if any one showed up. Nicky
"Bop" joined us at the Sonic, just after Mike, N4HHA, and Kristen showed
up in the Corvair convertible. Ken's "Used Car Lot" and Portable Cruiser
Bench then arrived. A few more Cruisers started to show up and the
regular DJ Rig parking area opened up. Ed & Sarah came out in their
daily driver as did Paul. The brother's Piazza were with us tonight. Roy
was in his Caddy. Bob in his SSR, Bob B. in the Chevelle, "Doc" and
Suzanne were out in the daily driver. "Big Jim" in the Beretta, Hank in
his Baja Bug. Ed & Sherry joined Tony and the rest of the Corvette's.
Nearly a dozen of those "Great American Sports Cars" were out. The
Clarke's were out in the daily driver as well. Gary & Wanda in their '55
Chevy. "Bo" had his '64 Corvair parked next to John's '65 Mustang. Bob,
came out in his daily driver and had great news about becoming a
grandfather for the 12th time on the 25th. Mark and son, Beau, were back
with us in their 31 Ford, Good to have you guys back! They even got to
meet their neighbors tonight, Steve & Amanda joined in with us tonight,
they are still working on their '57 Chevy 210. They will be attending
with out it and hopefully when it is road worthy we will get to see the
progress. Lyle was out promoting this Sunday's Car Show at Lenny's,
looks like there should be 70 cars will be there.
There were a few more that were with us as well.
About 30 cars were on display but there was $100 to be given away during
the drawings. Not to bad for such a small group.
