2 Words, LOVE BUGS! I sure thought they would be gone by now, maybe the
rain that is coming up over the weekend will help get rid of them. These
little critters will keep a car count down at an event like this.
"Mustang Mike" managed to get the DJ rig back in the place he likes to
park it. The "Bank Cars" left an opening big enough for him to sneak in.
Bob was one of the first to show up in his SSR. Ken had to park his "Car
lot" across from us. His wife Shirley is fighting some heath problems,
we wish her a speedy recovery. Man, the BUGS were heavy, we made sure to
get a hold of Tony so that he would bring out his bright yellow "Pest
Strip", I mean the Corvair. Along with many of the regulars it was good
to see Milt in his '39 Olds. Clay in his silver '59 Vette. Kevin in his
'59 T-Bird that is familiar to most of us. Jeff, in his Edsel, would
even manage to get Dan to stay to the end of the Cruise tonight.
Thank you to all that understand that I have to collect weekly for the
newsletter and a big thank you to those that continue to donate. There
is talk of a Cruise-In at Whistle Junction on a Monday night around
Fathers Day, Mike will have details next week. Lyle from "Lenny's" was
handing out flyers for a July 1st Show open to cars 1980 and older, that "Mustang Mike" is DJing, at
his establishment. $25 in advance, $30 on the day of the show. Proceeds
to the Cancer Society. All sign ups that Mike takes on A Thursday Nite
will be only $20. Sign up next week. Pre-registration deadline is June
15th.
Nick & Fran were once again accompanied by the "Grandkids" and Fanny. He
is anxiously awaiting the return of his coupe. Tony said that Marlene
decided to tear out the interior of "Cletus" this week. They put it back
in so they could make the 17th anniversary this weekend at Old Town.
Gene will be headed to Pennsylvania for the summer. He has a great '61
Mercury Comet to Cruise up there. See you in the fall. Harry & Roger
were out along with Jack in a Plymouth convertible. Mark was out in his
'56 Chevy 4 door. Dave & Arlene had their '56 Mercedes in the "Front
Line", they have been Cruising that car for 22 years. Tony & Peggy Sue
in their Nova. This being the last Thursday of the month we had more
than a dozen members of the "Mid-Florida Corvettes" in attendance.
Thanks for coming out. Hank even stopped by in his "Baja Bug" on his way
into work.
Ron Adamson # 725 was the holder of the winning ticket for
the 50/50. It was $93. He donated part of it to this newsletter. Thank You.
"Cruiser of the Week" went to Kay Bridges, Cruiser #718 in "Razzy" her
'70 Opel GT. The Mini version of her '70 Vette, "Razz"
The "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls to $100 next week. Tom Eng, Cruiser #320,
wasn't out tonight, Awwww.
We didn't let the BUGS get to us, too much, once Tony arrived they hung
around his car, we all had fun anyway.
As always a Big Thank You! To:
AutoZone - Beef O’Brady’s - Quiznos -
Sonic - Sonny’s (Pleasant Hill Road) - Saint Cloud NAPA - Whistle Junction
