"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

May 24th

Linda and I arrived a bit later than normal, it was just about 5:00 and the lot was already starting to fill up. Steve Mc was there in the "ShagWagon". Nicky "Bop" in his '32 Ford coupe. Bob in his SSR and a few others. There were still several "Bank Cars" blocking the area that Mike used to set up in. He was along the South side next to 13th Street. Mike, N4HHA, finally, that is, after missing many after his first few, you know, life getting in the way of what we want to do, made it to a Thursday! Having installed his new top on the '64 Corvair makes it a little easier to make it out, in case it rains. Kristen was with him as well.  We were in our "Regular" spot, with "Elvira" our '60 Ranchero, next to Ken's used (model) car lot. He was already in place by the time we arrived. Paul was in his DeSoto, Jean was setting with him, she is still waiting for her car. Russ was out in the "Wild Thing". Lots of regulars! It was going to be a good sized Cruise. Ed & Sarah were in their Starfire. I spotted Ed & Evelyn. Dan was in his '41 Willys Pickup, "Big Jim" and Norma in the Beretta. Bob in his '68 Chevelle. Jonathan and his dad were in their place of honor in the '67 Camaro. Ron had his '61 Caddy just where he liked it. Tony was spotted in Cletus, his '30 Chevy, parked right behind "Doc" in the '30 Chevy "Tater Truck". Phillip actually made it out tonight as did Louie in his '52 Ford. Brent was out in his Big Block El Camino. Bob had his '41 Buick. Stephen in his Corvette, "Bo" in his Corvair. Bob, just back from California was out in his daily driver, he had to drop off some tires to family members. Bert & Enrie were out despite his broken foot. He was once again helping Mike in the trailer. Roger & Harry without Cruisers, come on Harry lets see that Edsel Wagon one night. There were so many cars out it was hard to keep up with them. Brain had his Silver Camaro out, Tom in his Blue Mustang. The "Captain" piloted his '22 Model T touring car, that had recently been released from a 22 year incarceration in an aircraft hangar, into the lot about halfway through the event.

Graham, normally, G4HFG, when you hear him talking to me over the radios I carry, was actually, W4HFG, in person at our Cruise-In tonight with his wife Carole, they have been vacationing in Florida, he actually purchased a '56 T-Bird tonight. Well, OK it was a scale model from Ken. Hey, at least it is a start!

There were over 100 cars out tonight, several that have never ventured to our weekly get together, or at least the 4 plus years that I have been coming out, it sure was nice to see such a large group.

A few sprinkles started to drop from the sky, Mike decided to have the drawings a little early. Several cars pulled out of the lot. The rain stopped so we had a few extra minutes for the give a ways. Mike also mentioned that there is talk of an every 3rd Saturday Car Show Downtown Saint Cloud, details to follow. There was also talk about a 4th of July show at "Lenny's" that he will DJ. Details to follow.

Phillip Piazza, Cruiser # 710 was the holder of the winning ticket for the 50/50. It was $100. He donated part of it to the Cruise and a bit to this newsletter. Thank You.

"Cruiser of the Week" went to Steve Clarke, Cruiser #157 in his '77 Cadillac Coupe deVille.

The "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls to $75 next week. Dennis Kent, Cruiser #531, wasn't out tonight, Awwww.
