As we arrived at the Cruise-In, just after 4:00, "Mustang" Mike pulled
in at the same time, Bill, Virginia and the boys parked the yellow
Corvette. "Big John" was spotted parking his Orbit Orange GTO under his
favorite shade tree about the time Tony & Marianne parked up the Monte
SS. Bill Lamping then parked his Plymouth next to him. Bob had his SSR
across from John. Later this row would have 3 GTO's in it including
Jim's 66. Paul backed the DeSoto under the big tree. The "Grinster" was
spotted coming around the corner with Steve Mc at the wheel. Jaime and
Aglae parked their Cobra just down from him. After this I could not keep
track of the order. The cars started to roll in quickly. Ed & Sarah in
the '70 Chevy "Shortbox" then arrived. Ron had his Model A out tonight.
The "Wookie" in the "Heartbreaker". I couldn't believe my eyes! Andy
parked in the row up by 192. Thanks AJ for getting him to come out
tonight. Louie & John arrived at the same time one from the South and 1
from the North. They managed to get the Caddy and the Ford parked next
to each other, later Phil would arrive in his Camaro, Fran would join
him later. Yes, Nicky "Bop" was in his regular spot to better heckle
Mike and Marianne. "Bo" would park his Corvair convertible next to the
"Grinster", Neil & Elaine, back in town for a few weeks, would park the
Healey across from them. Jim would park the red Healey next to it, Whew,
it was a lot of Cruisers rolling in at the same time. Larry had the '48
Chevy out, Roger his '56 Chevy. The list would go on and on. Mark in
that elusive '62 Chevy would actually stay put tonight. Nick was out
with the "Bad Head gasket" he said he should be Cruising it by Saturday.
"Doc" & Cara parked the "Tater Truck" up by the trailer. Bob would park
his '68 Chevelle in his favorite spot near "Big Jim's" Beretta. New
Cruisers. John & son Jonathan would have their Camaro down in "Hot Rod
Row", near Mike's '30 Roadster. Jean was out, still without her '36
Ford. She is hoping it will be soon! Larry was out in his '49 Ford. I
didn't get the name of the owner of the Lamborghini that stopped by, it
was in town for a "Make A Wish" foundation event in Celebration. It sure
drew a crowd as did Mike's '65 GTO. The "Honeymooners" were spotted
visiting with all. Jeff came out in a daily driver to visit a while.
Tony & Marlene "Cruised-In" on Bicycles, Linda had to do some emergency
seat adjusting for her.
Mike, N4HHA, stopped by in his '81 Ford "Bucket Truck", well, he didn't
park it in with us, it was over in the back lot at the Sonic, he could
only stay a few moments. It seems that every time he wants to get to the
Thursday Nite event, work calls him back! So much for being self
employed. I know there were many more that I didn't mention, I would be
up all night trying to get this done. It was a very good Cruise-In. Bob
in the '36 Ford Humpback would assist Mike in the trailer with the
ticket sales. The other Bob would fill in for Bob along with "Bo" in the
peanut gallery.
Of course during the drawings the normal mayhem would arise, Nicky
yelling at the "Picker", we would once again give Marianne permission to
take care of him. Roger and Dana would be playing musical chairs with
Tony every time he would get up. AJ, you must be good luck for your
Grandfather, all those prizes he went home with.
The 50/50 that grew to $105, Tony DeGennaro, #150, had to get get up
again, so his chair would have Dana in it when he turned around. Yes, 2
weeks in a row he had the winning ticket.
Cruiser # 711, Jack & Edwine Davidson weren't out in their 'Vette
tonight so next week there will be $100 in the offering.
It paid off for Mark Rife, Cruiser #48, tonight, he stayed all night and
took home "Cruiser of the Week".
