"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

April 12th

It was a very warm humid day, after last nights deluge of rain we were still under a "Fire Weather Warning", much like the dry spring of '98. So, in my opinion it was a beautiful day for a Cruise-In. The cars would come into the event very slowly, the car count would only be about 35 by 6:45. the "Regulars like Nicky "Bop", Ron A, Roy in a daily driver, Tony & Marianne, Bill,  Virginia & the boys were lined up in the front row along with Bert & "Ernie". "Doc" in the "Tater Truck". Jean, still waiting for her '36 Ford, Paul in his DeSoto, Bill in his Blazer, Tony & Sharon in "Lucy" the '69 Ranchero. Ken with his "Used Car Lot" were out as well. Nick & Fran were out with 2 of the grandkids, sans the Blown Head gasket, Deuce Coupe. Bob had out the SS 396 Chevelle, Dan Z in his Willys Pickup. "Scary Larry" as Mike calls Roger, still no Cruiser yet, Knight, still comes out to support the Cruise. Rodger was in one of his Healy's, Ron H in my Favorite Chevy. Phillip, who had been babysitting the last few days, handed the child over to Francis and escaped to the Cruise-In. "Cousin Vinney" was spotted along with Tim, just to name a few. We had a couple of new Cruisers join in tonight. John & son Jonathan in a '68 Camaro. They admitted to be related to Nicky "Bop" but let's not hold it against them. Gene, the latest owner of "Thunder Road" and his caregiver, Robert. Welcome to this extended "Family". Jim & Shirley had their last Cruise-In with us before going up North for the Summer, Safe Trip, see you next year. Down in "Hot Rod Row" was the "Wild Thing" a "Scott Rod" and the Vanilla Shake! Tom had the '58 Buick out for about a half hour.

By the end of the Cruise-In we had about 60 cars in the lot with many Cruisers in daily drivers. At times the spectators outnumbered the cars. Mike mentioned his Monthly gig down in Lakeland with the "Dukes" on the 2nd Saturday of the Month, join him down there if you can.

The 50/50 grew to $105 and Tony DeGennaro had the winning ticket! He donated $20 back to the Cruise-In. The $50 "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $75 next week, Dave Dean, Cruiser #52, wasn't out tonight when his number was drawn.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home in the Full Blown, Nitro Burning, Family Heirloom, "Tater Truck" with Duane "Doc" Watson and daughter Cara, Cruiser #525.

During the drawings Mark, was in the back row chatting up with other 'Vette owners. I think I even spotted Ray & Carm pull in about the time we were tearing down for the night.

As always a Big Thank You! To:
