"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

March 29th

It's Corvette Thursday! Tonight, the Mid-Florida Corvettes would be out in full force as they always are in the last Cruise-In of the Month. Linda & I rolled "Elvira" our '60 Ranchero through the Sonic, making our way to our favorite spot for this event. Tony & Marianne were already parked in their '71 Monte. In the area for the DJ rig was a Mini Motor home from Quebec Canada, I guess they had the bucks for the rig and figured on making their way cross country with out a campground as many of them do. It was a little hard to persuade them to move. Reluctantly they gave up and moved towards the stop sign to the North. This was just one of the "Campers" set up in the Wal-Mart lot. Even though we have to have a city permit and corporate permission we are still guests, just like the "Campers" in this area. The Cruisers were slow in making their way out tonight, Except for Tony & Sharon. I think we were eating just after 5:00 for a change. John, KG4BFJ, arrived about the time we were making our way back to the Cruise-In. Bill & the "Boys", Trevor and Lucky" along with Bob were out in the 'Vette. Nicky "Bop" had to be in "Time Out". well that is what Marianne said anyway.

With the Sun setting later than it did a year ago, I guess many were taking advantage of it in their yards, you know, that "Honey Do" list and all. then just after 6:00 many more of the "Regulars" made it out. Even "Hot Rod Row" had the "Wild Thing", a "Scott Rod" and the "Vanilla Shake" parked in next to Tommy's GMC and Paul's DeSoto. Bo had his "Original" '70 Monte Carlo out instead of his Corvair. Bob should have his radiator in the Humpback '36 for  this weekend. "Big Jim" and Norma brought out the resurrected Beretta. Bob actually had his '71 Camaro parked next to Nick's Supercharged 5 Window Coupe. Dan & Liz were in the Orange Willys coupe. It ended up being quite a large show by now. We even had a '66 V-Dub owned by Scott and Cruised by him and Soleil, his, as of yesterday, 4 year old daughter. Happy Birthday and welcome to Thursday Nites!

Bill & Pat from Scotland, semi regulars, will be with us a few weeks after  completing a trip to Nevada. It looked like Jimmy was in a car the he used too much "Invisible Glass" on. Standing in a spot at the Sonic ordering his treat for the night. Jean was showing off photos of the rebuild of her '36 Ford, sure hope to see it soon. Tommy & Mary were setting in the shade with Paul and the rest of the gang on the knoll. Don, who sold his T-Bird just a while ago was also with them. John Foster couldn't figure out how I knew that he acquired Roy's '56 Chevy. Richard, the Model T Guy, was out in a late model Ford, well later than 1927. I think it was a '29 Model A Four Door. He said he was getting older and needed the extra luxury.

A friend to the Cruise-In, a true Cruiser at heart, fellow Amateur Radio operator and president of the Orlando Amateur Radio Club, "Chuck" Ehrhardt, K9PQR, passed away last Saturday unexpectedly at his home.
