It was Corvette Thursday, more than a dozen members of the
Mid-Florida Corvettes came out to play. When Linda and I arrived in
"Elvira" our '60 Ranchero, "Mustang Mike" was already set up, Jack was
set up in "Old Yeller" his '29 Model A. Mira was in town visiting from
Santa Domingo. Bill rolled his 'Vette in followed by his Miata driven by
Bob & Val. Then the lot started to fill up with all of the regulars.
Steve Mc Debuted his Sedan Delivery, Dan & Liz were out in a Willys
pickup for the first time. Even "Big Jim" was spotted in his '57 Chevy.
"Frenchy" and a bunch from Owensboro, Kentucky Car Club were with us
tonight. Good seeing them all out. Larry with ITZA40, from Canada was
just asking about them last night. "Hot Rod Row" had many of it's
regulars including "Wild Thing". There were even 4 Corvairs out tonight.
An 8 door Greenbrier, and 2 Early Model Convertibles and Tony & Sharon's
latest project, a '62 Coupe. Roger in his Orange '48 Chevy Pickup,
haven't seen him since November. Curt in his GMC. Ed & Sarah were out in
their newest truck, that great '70 Chevy C-10 that Larry was driving
just a week ago. John was back in a '56 Ford, that '57 Chevy he had last
week sold at Old Town. Any one keeping Score? Bill was in his '55 Chevy,
Gary & Wanda were out in their '56. Tony & Marianne had they daily
driver, the '71 Monte is still having a few window problems.
Congratulations to Ed & Evelyn on the birth of their
grandson, Nelson Edward Booher, born on the 20th.
The spectator crowd was very large tonight. Always
good for some one to show off these cars to. Linda was accepting more
participants for the "Knitting Kruizers". Those projects can keep them
as busy as these cars keep us.
Tony & Louie went over to do the prize shopping, a
great job was done. Thank You. Bob & Dana assisted Mike in the trailer
as did Cara for a while. The night was spent in it's normal fashion,
visiting with Cruisers and spectators.
"Mustang Mike" mentioned that he will now be DJing
the "Cruisers
for Kids" charity event on March 17th, 2007 in Town Center,
Waterford Lakes.
The 50/50 made it's way to $143, Val, in Bill's Miata
was the holder of the winning ticket, she donated $10 to the newsletter,
Thank You! Tonight's $250, "Cruise-A-Matic" was taken home by Cruiser
#241, Tom Adams. He donated $20 towards prizes for next week. Thank You!
"Cruiser of the Week" went home with Ed & Sarah
