It didn't look too promising on our way to the Cruise-In at 4:00,
however the Weatherman said the early rain would end by 5:00, he got it
right! Mike was setting under the Canopy with Jack. Linda & I would join
them and eat a little early. Just after the skies opened up at about
4:30, Bert & Ernie pulled into the Sonic as well. Bill & Virgina arrived
in the 'Vette with "The Boys". They would join us as well just after
Gary & Wanda who also parked at the Sonic for a while. Ken would also
come over to eat. Just about 10 minutes to five as the rain stopped Bob
would park his SSR in it's usual spot. Once the rain stopped the cars
from the Sonic lined up in the Cruise-In area. They all got wiped down
then more cruisers started to show up. Dick & Gert in their Impala
Convertible, Steve Mc in his Ranchero, Tony & Marianne in their daily
driver. Bill in is Chevelle from Michigan, new "Snowbird" to our
Cruise-In. Doc & Cara were out in the "Tater Truck". Larry came out in
his '70 "Shortbox", Jimmy & Dan would join him later. He also brought
some more prizes from "Dad's New York Deli". Ron rolled his Caddy and
angled it into his favorite spot. Some how "Big John" snuck in on me.
There it was, his Red GT350 Convertible setting across from Bob's SSR.
Larry came in his old Chevy, later Barbara and the grandkids would join
the Front Row. Bob, with his '36 Ford Humpback was parked up by the
trailer so that he could help out with the ticket sales. Then Bob eased
his '41 Buick between Larry's Chevy and the GT350. Bob brought out his
Chevelle and Nick & Fran in the '32 HiBoy.
There seemed to be a lot of spectators in the lot tonight. I spotted
Dick with out his White Mustang, seems it still needs a little carb
work. Don came a little later in his Red 2+2 and joined the guys on the
corner. Al & Aggie
chugged their Model A into the spot next to us that Ken had vacated.
7:45 seemed to come quickly tonight. I started the closing with the
"Mustang Mike" Cruiser of the Month award that went home with Steve
McCullough, then the "Eagle Engraving/Embroidery by Renee "Cruiser of
the Week" went home in John & Sandy's '56 Ford "Thunder Road".
We had a total of $140 from last weeks half of the 50/50 and all of this
weeks along with $20 donated by Mike, so it was cash along with the
prizes from "Auto Zone", "Beef O'Bradys", Sonny's, "Whistle Junction"
and "Dad's New York Deli" were drawn for. Then Cruiser #729, Brian
Rader's number was drawn for the $175 "Cruise-A-Matic", he wasn't out
tonight, Awwww, so next week we have $200 in the offering.
Here are a few photos, the light went quickly so there aren't many,
sorry.

Congratulations to the winners and a big Thank You to all that came out
tonight.
See you all "Out There!"
