"Mustang Mike" was already parked in his spot before we arrived at 4:55.
Linda and I had to stop at home before making our way out to the
"Square". It had been a long day of work, yes, I know that is a four
letter word. The day started off by first acquiring a "1-Wire"
alternator from a local parts store. amazing the same store that the man
at the counter said, "we don't carry that". That is the real difference
between a "Parts Store counter man" and a "Parts Man". I did manage to
get it installed before we had to head to Linda's stores starting all
the way out on Hwy 27. There wasn't any time to get "Elvira" cleaned up
for tonight so it would be the Corvair "Cruisin" night. Anyway we were
later than normal.
We then joined Mike and Chris, by the way next Wednesday is his
Birthday, be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday next week. Shortly after
5:00, Dave parked his "Hand Sculpted", "Sealer White", sort of a reverse
Hot Rod primer, '48 Anglia / '65 VW, tube framed, Air-conditioned,
4 Cylinder rear wheel drive, Mini-Rod daily driver next to us. He is now
retired and enjoying his time traveling. He just got back from a 6 week
tour of the Mid-West, Racing at many of the tracks up there. Then Ed &
Sarah rolled into the lot with their Burnt Orange '70 Chevy C-10
"Shortbox" pickup. Ron was the next to arrive in his '61 Caddy
convertible followed by Roy in his Red '64 Ford Galaxie convertible, he
had debuted it at the "Lenny's Car Show" last week end. Bob, in his
'Orange '68 Chevelle SS396 and Nick in his 5 Window Coupe, were the next
to park. Nick had a night off from the Grandkids. Andy in his '79
deVille followed by the "Wookie" in the "Heartbreaker" his '83 Mustang
came in just a bit later. Tom & Diane, in the Red '32 Ford pickup parked
next to Nick. Then Steve & Charlie would bring in the Yellow '77
deVille. Louie, in his Blue "52 Ford Customline would be next. Dick,
still not in my Mustang, would park his Motorcycle just out of the "Show
Area". "Scary Larry", I mean Roger would park his newly acquired Red,
'86 5.0 Mustang convertible next to Roy. The night was spent catching
up. With no Cruise and the family "Holiday" last week there were many
new stories to tell. Of course everyone had to check out Dave's ride.
Chris and the staff at "Bites" made us all feel at home, fed most of us,
wait here comes George in his Black '61 Falcon. Well, that is normal, it
must be nearly time for the drawings.
The 50/50 of $30 was taken home by Tom Hoboth, Cruiser #133. He donated
$20 to this newsletter, Thank you.
Cruiser #10 was drawn for the $70 "Cruise-A-Matic", much to his
surprise, it was Ed Guglich, aka. the "Wookie", "Eddy Flames", "Crazy
Eddie", just call him $70 richer.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home with "Scary Larry", Roger Knight, in his
'86 5.0 Mustang convertible. In recognition of "Cruising" all those
months in between cars.
