"Duke" Davis' Wednesday Nite Cruise-In
Brought to you by Saint Cloud "Bites"
at "Magnolia Square"

East Highway 192
Saint Cloud, Florida

In Memory of C. "Duke" Davis

May 2nd

It certainly was a beautiful day to have a "Cruise-In". It won't be too long before the summer heat sets in. When Linda & I arrived in "Elvira" our '60 Ranchero, Jack was already in his favorite spot with his '29 Model A Sport Coupe. He would later have to move it to it's place of honor for the week. Larry, WA3PGL, and Linda, KA3BRP, spectators and Amateur Radio friends stopped out to enjoy a bit of an Ice Cream snack from "Bites". Clay, WA8ART, Cruiser #210, stopped by in his daily driver, some family health issues have kept him away from Cruising, we sure hope the recoveries go well and to see him back soon. Paul had his DeSoto in it's favorite spot about the time Clay left. Hayward & Linda arrived in their El Camino. Then Larry's '49 Ford rolled into the parking lot but it was his brother Garry and friend Patrick, from the Isle of Wight, UK, that was in the car. Larry is up working at the Old Brickyard for the month in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ron A rolled the Caddy in and parked behind the DJ rig. Then Ron H. chugged his model A into the parking lot. Louie, sans the '52 Ford, arrived in his daily driver. He had been working on his '50 Ford near by, all day. George & George made it to the lot shortly after that in the Cutlass. Chris & Donna signed up with us tonight,  they are the couple that bought Tommy's '66 GMC but they were in their daily driver tonight. The "Wookie" was followed in by Andy in his deVille, AJ was swimming tonight. So, the Buick will be coming out soon, eh, Wookie? He has been saying this for at least the last 3 years. Steve & Charlie parked the yellow deVille next to Andy. Roger was out in his daily driver and Roy brought out the Infiniti convertible. It was a small crowd but a quality bunch as usual.

The 50/50 was $25.00, Ron Adamson had the winning ticket, he donated $5 to this newsletter, Thank You. He almost had a clean sweep tonight, the number drawn from the bucket for the $50 "Cruise-A-Matic" was just 1 number lower, #168 Tony Lamb, he wasn't out so we have $60 in the offering next week.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home with Ron & Rene Adamson, Cruiser #169, in their '61 Caddy

Yes, George made it out, did you think I would forget that? He arrived just past 7:00 in his '61 Falcon so it was 10 cars that Cruised in.

As usual we were made to feel like guests by the Robertson's, Brittany and Danielle, the smiling, efficient and friendly "Bites" staff. Thank you for having us out again.

On our way home, that squealing fan belt on our old Ranchero broke, after coasting into the dark "Rodeo Diner" by the Turnpike, Tony and Bob came to the rescue with a new belt. They had been putting the finishing touches on the "Buffing Out" of Tony & Sharon's bight yellow Corvair Coupe. Thanks guys!

On to a few photos..... after this.
