April 25th
What a beautiful day, Linda couldn't make
it out tonight, the Part Time job she took on that was not supposed to
interfere with the Cruise-In's, as told her by her boss, was keeping
her in the stores much later than anticipated. I was alone in the
Corvair on her debut with the shinny look that she had just received. Jack was already parked in
his favorite spot in his '29 Model A Ford, just after 4:00 when I arrived
our '61 Corvair Monza Coupe. Mike had a clear parking area for the DJ
rig and pulled in about 4:30. Paul wheeled his '58 DeSoto in and parked
in his favorite spot, just over from our little white coupe. We left a
space for Tommy or Bill. Dick was the next to arrive and parked his 2+2 in
front of the trailer. Ron A.., back in town from the "Good Guys" show in
Jacksonville last week, parked his '61 Caddy in his favorite spot.
George in the '87 Cutlass was the next to arrive with his dad. Then my
favorite Chevy, a '53 4 door was seen rolling into the lot with Ron H.
at the wheel. Louie parked his '52 Ford next to Ron. Steve & Charlie
backed the deVille in to a spot. Andy in his '79 deVille was shadowed in
by the "Wookie" in his '83 Mustang. Then Greg arrived in his Camaro.
Harry, in a daily driver was out and chatting with all in attendance.
Then George arrived in the '61 Falcon, we all knew the Cruise-In was
near it's completion. Roger arrived just about the time the drawings
were over. he said he would buy twice as many tickets tomorrow night.
It was a very nice
evening. "Bites" managed to feed all of the bunch in a timely fashion.
Sorry it was a short story, my note taker was missing.
Tonight's 50/50 grew to
$27. Paul Schwartz, Cruiser, #43, was holding the winning ticket but it
wasn't Tommy's. Paul donated $5 to this newsletter, Thank You.
The "Cruise-A-Matic" would have gone home
with Bill Khoenle, Cruiser #52, if he would have been out tonight,
he must have been working. Next week it will be $50.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home with
Jack Smith, Cruiser #152, in
his '29 Model A.
As usual we were made to feel like
guests by the Robertson's and the staff at "Bites". Thank you for having
us out again.
On to a few photos.....
after this.
