April 18th
The skies were a little overcast but the
weatherman said no rain till late evening. Jack was already parked in
his favorite spot in his '66 Mustang at just after 4:00 when we arrived
in "Elvira" our '60 Ranchero. Paul wheeled his '58 DeSoto in and parked
in his favorite spot, next to our Ranchero. Dan was the next to arrive
in his '41 Willys Coupe. Then "Mustang Mike" parked the DJ rig in it's
place and began to set up. Dick then brought his Mustang in and parked
it. Bill in his Blazer parked on the other side of us. Louie in his '52
Ford parked just behind the DJ rig. Ron parked my favorite Chevy, his
'53 next to Louie. The "Honeymooners", Tommy & Mary, arrived in their
daily driver. "Big Jim" brought out his Berretta and parked down next to
Dan Z. George along with his dad George arrived and registered with us
tonight with his '86 Cutlass. Jim then parked his GTO in front of the
Post Office. Roy, driving his "Fill in Cruiser", a '91 Infiniti M30
convertible, 1 of 2500 ever built, in the handicapped spot next to Jim.
Later his wife Judy would stop by and let him cook, well buy dinner
anyway. It was quite a while before the "Wookie" in his Mustang, Steve &
Charlie in the yellow deVille along with Andy and grandson AJ in the
blue deVille arrived. They parked in the "Front Row". George, usually
the last to arrive maneuvered his Falcon into the spot in front of the
DJ rig about 6:30. Al chugged the Model A into the lot. Roger rode out
with Harry in his daily driver, Harry signed up with his Edsel wagon,
hope to see it out soon. Tonight it would be Mark in his '62 Chevy to be
the last to arrive. Now he at least has been out at the beginning and an
end this month. Maybe soon he might spend a whole cruise-in with us.
It was a very nice
evening. "Bites" managed to feed all of the bunch in a timely fashion.
Tonight's 50/50 grew to
$32. Linda was holding my winning ticket. Finally we got to win one! She
donated $1 to the letter stating that she needed gas money so she could
actually go to work tomorrow at the part time job she took to support
this endeavor.
The "Cruise-A-Matic" would have gone home
with Roy & Rosie Bohnsack, #113, if he would have been out tonight, Awww. So
next week it will be $40.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home with Dick & Jackie Ralston #146, in
their 65 Mustang 2+2
As usual we were made to feel like
guests by the Robertson's and the staff at "Bites". Thank you for having
us out again.
On to a few photos.....
