March 7th
Above average temperatures, plenty of
Sunshine beckoned us to the event tonight. When Linda and I arrived just
after 4:00 the lot was ready for us at the "Square". Mike, N4HHA, pulled
up in his '64 Corvair Convertible just as we were walking over to
Discount Auto parts. Then as we were walking back, Paul rolled his
DeSoto into his favorite spot. Tommy was then spotted in his GMC pickup
about the time "Mustang Mike" was backing his rig into place. Dick came
in his Daily driver, Greg arrived and parked next to Tommy. Mike, in the
Corvair had to leave so Tommy pulled over next to Paul, then Dan Z.
parked his '41 Willys in the vacated spot. Linda reported to me that
Judy had a special tonight, at Bites, Meatloaf Mashed potatoes and
corn, so she ordered dinner. While we were eating alfresco the
"Regulars" started to roll in. Don in his red Mustang. Louie in his '52
Ford, Phil parked his Camaro next to him. Ron was out in his '53 Chevy.
"Big Jim" & Norma brought out the '67 ProStreet Chevelle and parked next
to Ron. Not in any particular order, Bill was parked in his place of
honor in front the DJ rig. Ron was in his Caddy, Steve & Charlie as well
as Andy were out in the deVilles. Larry and Bob were in daily drivers as
were Jimmy, Roger, Dick G. and Ray. Ed & Sherry were out in their
'Vette, later joined by Jim & Susan visiting from Canada. Bert & "Ernie"
were in their F150, Roy in his '55 Chevy, Jim in his GTO, the "Wookie"
in his Mustang. Bob was in his Chevelle, with a little news about Nick.
Seems Nick will be undergoing some emergency surgery this evening. Our
Thought's are with you Nick. Get Well! Last but not least, George rolled
his '61 Falcon into the parking lot about 6:45. The evening was spent as
usual with lots of socializing, Jackie, Dick R's better half even
stopped for a visit.
"Mustang Mike" mentioned that on the 2nd
Saturday night of each month he will be DJing the Lakeland Downtown show
and invited us to attend .
