A great time was had by all the Ford fans and fanatics this weekend.
They got to see some great Ford products and some legendary Ford racers.
Billy Howell Ford of Cumming, Ga. had a great display of almost every
new Ford made today. I've not included any pictures of them to save room
for some of the earlier models. There were several vendors on site with
everything from T-shirts to complete motors for that swap you've been
thinking about. Grizzley Graphics was making vinyl signs and graphics
for anyone wanting them.
The 422 Motorsports Team from Oaks, Pa was the featured group of drag
cars along with the original Lightweight Galaxies of Dick Brannan. 422
boasts of having the fastest nostalgia Fords in the country with the
"Dearborn Thunder" Falcon recording a 7.55 at over 155 mph on the second
pass.

There were quite a few legendary Ford racers in attendance with meet and
greet sessions all through the weekend. They included, David Pearson
(the Silverfox), Hubert Platt (Georgia Shaker), Phil Bonner (Daddy
Warbucks), Fred Lorenzen, Al Joniec (BatMan), Roy Hill, Terry Earwood,
Bruce Sizemore, and many, many more.
There were cars from all corners of the country. The local contingent
was represented by yours truly driving the 1000 mile round trip in my 62
Comet. And the 427 SOHC powered 64 Fairlaine of Wayne Jeffers from
Lakeland being trailered up.

Some of the other beauties that made the trip for this wonderful weekend
were, this gorgeous 50 Ford with a 427 SOHC motor reportedly built by
legendary Funny Car racer Jack Christman more than 20 years ago.

This was one of David Pearson's earlier rides.

The man is the chair didn't want to give me his name, but he lives
locally in Cumming and drove this Model T Pick-up in and out of the
fairgrounds all 3 days.

The customs were very well represented by this beautiful Merc.

The "A" bones were there too This is a really cool Old School Classic.

A 56 Country Squire is something you don't see everyday. Especially one
this nice.

Tasca Ford has 2 of their big block Fairlaines in attendance. This one
has a 406 and the white one has a 427 FE motor.

with a blown 427 this 65 Falcon is tagged and driven regularly.

The interior is flawless.

The Pro/Stock Maverick of the late "Dyno" Don Nicholson was in
attendance too.

Dick Brannan assured me that this was only the start
of something big for Ford fans. Applications for the future years will
be screened more to include more real street cruisers. He seemed to be
hinting that race teams will be limited to 1 or 2 cars to provide more
room for the cruiser. I, for one, sure am looking forward to next year.
