FACACA Goes to the
"Movies of Broadway" downtown Kissimmee, at the ToHo Square. Mel Welch
with,
Kissimmee
Main Street contacted us to bring out some cars for the Viewing of
"Grease". Thanks to Steve Mc we had "Real Steel" 1927 Flamed,
Orange Model T Hot Rod. Doc had his Nitrous burning 1930 Pro-Street
Chevy Pickup, that has been in his family since it was new. "Big Jim"
had his '57 Chevy Belair next to Roy's '55 Chevy Belair. Jaime had his
Little Cobra next to our '60 Ranchero. Ed & Evelyn brought out their '64
Corvair Convertible. Gary & Wanda had out "Remember When" that shaved
chrome, Blue Flamed, Black beauty of a '55 Chevy in the center. Louie
had his 1952 Ford 4 Door. Tony & Sharon brought out Steve Mc's 1962
Ranchero, "Lucy" their 1969 Ranchero was just a little too new for this
event. Clay, Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruiser of the Week, had his 1959
Silver Corvette next to George & Mary's 1972 Monte Carlo, they didn't
even know we were doing this event, they had been out of town. Seeing
"Movies Of Broadway" in the newspaper brought them out. "It was
serendipity, seeing a lot of our friends" Mary said. They had not
seen most of us for a while and thought it would be next week before
they would "Cruise". Paul & Betty had the brought out the '66 Mustang
convertible. At the end was Russ with the "Wild Thing" a 1935 Ford
Pickup "Rat Rod", that was actually made in to a Hot Rod way back in
1950!
Mel and Jessica made us very welcome and
invited us all to join in on the festivities. They had a Karaoke contest
a Hula Hoop contest and other entertainment going on the main stage.
Food vendors, the Pop Corn Machine was set up and ready to POP. You
could even purchase your favorite beverage at a bar that was set up at
the side of the ToHo Square sign.
There were many spectators looking at
the cars including Ralph & Shirley, looking at the cars and taking in
the pre show festivities. At 8:45 we paraded our cars out Pleasant
Street, though the parking lot behind the stage and returned to "Cruise"
past the people awaiting the start of the movie at 9:00PM. A few
Cruisers came back to watch the movie. Linda and I came home so that you
all can read about it tonight.
Thank You to the
Kissimmee
Main Street organization for
inviting us out to brag about our cars. Hope you will have us out for
another event in the future. Tony, great job, once again you came
through putting this one together on short notice.
on July 1st we will go
to "Cruisin' Winter Haven", we thought it was time to go down and see
Butch and Jennifer,
Cruisin' With the
Oldies at this event and check out
Winter Haven
on a Saturday Nite. See Tony for the Caravan Details.
