Another long day, this time meeting at the
Parking Lot by Wal-Mart where the
Thursday Ntie Cruise-In
takes place. Linda and I were asking ourselves, "What are we doing up so
early again?" There were a dozen cars waiting for us. This was the
morning of the "Town of Harmony" to have their Flag Day Festival. We
were invited to "Display our cars. Tony, our Cruise Director, had done a
great job organizing our trip. 33 Cars signed up to join in.
At 8:10 the caravan began, It must have been a sight to on
lookers as two lanes of Old Cars turned onto 192 from Kissimmee Park
road. As we rolled up to Narcoosee road another dozen or so cars blended
in with the traffic and headed towards the Town of Harmony. Gary, Wanda,
Steve and Ed were waiting for us on the entry road to the Town Center.
As w headed for our parking area it was quite a site. All 30 cars in a
line all of the way back to 192 from the Square. As we parked Roy came
up in one of Towns electric carts and greeted us.
The Town Square was all set up for a day of events. The
Karaoke Contest tent was lively with people signing up for the event.
the area next to the Welcome center was set up for the Horse riding
display. Then there was the playing of the National Anthem and a Fly
Over of 3 old Warbirds. Most of the music that was played was of the
Patriotic variety. Lots of things for the children, a very well planned
day of fun that was going off without a hitch. A bicycle parade. The
"Siler Cloud " orchestra played,
11:00 was to be the opening time for the "All American
Buffet" to be served at "Geensides Restaurant"
What a great event, I am sure next years event will be even
bigger and better.
Thank you to the "Town of Harmony" for letting us
participate and show our cars. Let us know when you might need us again.
