As we arrived at Old
Town at 2:00, we spotted many cars that had already taken their spots
along "Trophy Row". About 3 dozen or so Studebakers lined the East side
of "Deac Hundley Blvd". The weather was perfect. We were the only ones
in our regular caravan of cars that makes it way to Old Town early on a
Saturday afternoon. Steve & Cheryl, Ed & Evelyn, Neil & Elaine as well
as Tony & Sharon were due to join us a little later.
As Linda and I made our rounds we noticed that
"Drop you Top" gang had moved to new turf as did John & Roger. Lots of
"Snowbirds" around, John & Sandy were without their T-Bid, it sold Thursday
Nite. So they were shopping with great success, looks like the trailer wont; be
going home empty. I should have a '62 Pontiac Convert. on it for the trip home.
Steve & Carol, from Canada are still looking for that elusive Mopar Convert.
This list of car changes never seems to quit, but that is part of this great
hobby.
Steve rolled in with his "Real Steel" 27 Ford
Street Rod, Daniel, Neil's son drove Steve's Ranchero out today, Neil piloted
his '63 "Healey", Cheryl and Elaine were coming out after 5;00 with the '62
Triumph. "Mustang Mike" was seen in Joe Z's Mustang, good seeing him at Old
Town!
The spectator crowd grew and grew all day
long. There were cars all of the way around the corner by the time the gates
opened back up at 5:00. Mike & Carol rolled in with their '54 Hudson, maybe for
one of the last Saturday nites before moving to Tennessee, they will be missed.
The cars kept rolling in right up to 8:00 making the total of nearly 350 cars.
"Eddie & The Cruzers" rocked the main
stage, "The Dukes"
entertained a large crowd on the corner by the A&W. "Mustang Mike" and Angel
Angelero were seen with them. Mike Singer played his great mix of tunes over
"Old Town Radio".
