Saturday Nite wouldn't be the same without a
trip to Old Town, did we let the fact that it was only 50 degrees at
1:00 in O'clock in the afternoon stop us from our weekly pilgrimage? I
should say not!
We picked up Tony & Sharon along side the road on the way
to the Cruise, Tony led the way onto the brick streets of Old Town down
to Block 4 of Trophy Row. It was only going to be the '54 Hudson that
would be joining us in our "Regular" spot tonight. As we wandered up the
blocks of Trophy Row, we noticed that many of the people we should have
seen parked along the way were not there, I guess this Cold Snap was
going to take it's toll on the car count tonight. There were also a
couple of other Annual events running at other venues around the state.
As we made our way back to the cars, Mike & Carol rolled in in the
Hudson, shortly after they parked we all went to "Flippers" for some
dinner.
On the way back up Trophy Row, we noticed that Gary & Wanda
once again took advantage of the fact the Ben Franklin was not at the
top of Block 1 and occupied the spot he normally takes. Brandy was once
again our waitress at Flippers, only this time we would be dinning "in"
rather than El fresco. It was cold for those of us that are used to the
warmer temperatures of Sunny Florida. After stopping by and asking Mike
T. to turn the heat back on we made our way back down to our cars.
Trevor didn't come out tonight, Bill & Virginia went off on a Sea Cruise
earlier today. Ed & Evelyn must have been frozen in, Steve & Cheryl were
getting ready for a trip over to England, they will be stopping in on
Neal & Elaine while they are "Abroad".
This colder weather also played a big part on the fact that
we didn't have the amount of spectators that we are used to seeing. The
ones that braved the evenings chill were not disappointed, there were
still 128 cars for them to cheer on that were led on the parade route by
Ron Smith in his Vintage Chevy Pickup.
We did have take the time to visit several of the merchants
that are the sponsors of this nearly 16 year tradition, the "Saturday
Nite Cruise
