A big weekend at Old Town, not only the The
National Corvette Restorers Society being in Town but the Zimmers club
was lined up along "Deac Hundley Blvd." Cindy Williams was also with us
to "Grand Marshal" tonight's Cruise.
The Corvette show has dominated Old Town since Wednesday
Nite, this huge event brought over a thousand Corvettes in and out of
Town. "Trophy Row' was a line of tents and specialty merchants
supporting this event. The first 2 blocks had been reserved for the
"Regulars" but by 4:00 when Linda and I had arrived it was nearly full.
We ended up parking the Ranchero as if it was Ben Franklin's trailer
that he usually tows behind. Thanks Ben. It was hard to find most of the
"Gang" as we all had been displaced. Some were even behind the A&W as
the over 300 regulars that came out tonight needed places to park. The
crowd of spectators seemed larger than normal. I am sure Cindy Williams
was partially responsible for that. It was very nice to see her out with
us tonight. It was easy to tell that she has a very large fan base. The
lines for the Autographed photos was very long. She was extremely
gracious and very warm to all that approached her. Thank You Cindy.
At Cruise time we all had to negotiate the large crowd and
all of the tents that were like an obstacle course making our way around
"Kids Town". However the Cruise came off, right on time and thanks to
the Cruise Staff and the co operation of the Regulars, it was another
safe and fun Cruise.
On to the flag winners
Tonight's
random drawing winners that and received the coveted "Old Town Checkered Flag"
along with $25 cash, a case of Valvoline 20W50 Racing Oil and a drink from the
Tropical Breeze. 1 Lucky Winner will
receive $100 Old Town Cruiser's Cash instead of the regular prize booty.
