The Saturday Nite Cruise®
Established in 1990
Rain or Shine, 52 Weeks a year!
Old Town Shopping Attraction.
East Highway 192
Saint Cloud, Florida

February 11th

The day started out quite nicely, Linda & I were working this morning at the "Orlando Hamcation" at the Orange county Fairgrounds. Just about the time we were about to leave the sky darkened and the rain started, we made our way to Old Town in the Torrential rain! That was O.K. the wash job that I had done on the little Corvair was no longer valid. The wind kicked up so bad that we had sand all over the car, interior and all while at the Fairgrounds.

We arrived just before 4:00PM. The "Classic Chevy Show" was in "Town" since Thursday. Hundreds of the "Bow Ties" gather once a year for this event. The weather had deteriorated so badly that I could not get very many pictures. The rain would be with us off and on for the rest of the night.

John & Angel were out in their Red Nova, no wait what's that? A Mopar? Hmmmm he has cruised a Ford then a Chevy now a Mopar? I will get a few more details on it next week.

Tony & Marlene joined in on their first Saturday Nite Cruise as a "Cruiser" with their 1930 Chevrolet 3 Window Coupe. They had debuted it at "Duke Davis' Wednesday Nite Cruise-In" the very first evening, right after getting it off the transport. Thursday it blew out a couple of dry rotted tires, they thought they might not make it out tonight. Linda helped the find out the information on where to buy them. Al Wendling steered them to the "Right Place" just in time so that they may join us.

As always when there is a special event in "Town" many of the regulars do not make it out. There are many "Die Hards" that always make it. It was hard to find most of them as this always displaces us. On a good note, Richard "The Iceman" gets to Cruise his 2 Camaros once a year at this event.

Even with all the rain the spectator crowd was quite large and they were treated to 132 cars parading past them led by Darrel & Jacky Johnson in their White '57 Chevrolet Belair convertible February's "Cruiser of the Month"

On to the flag winners
