We arrived at Old-Town at our regular time but we were by
ourselves until after 4o'clock on a hot humid day Then Greg Jones wandered in
with his `74 Gremlin. At 5 o'clock we only had a few early birds waiting to get
in. However
by cruise time we had 125 fine cruisers.
A pretty good turnout for a Friday Night. The weather was
favorable tonight with just a few sprinkles off and on. Bert and Laverne are
going to Indiana for awhile. Things will be quiet here at Old Town without them.
We hope they have a good and safe trip. Bert is doing very good and getting
around better every day. Ike and Nancy were back with us tonight, they haven't
been out for over a month. Good to see you two back cruising with us again.
Gerald, (Mr. Pontiac) was back from his vacation in Kentucky. He surprised us by
announcing, that on August 31 he and his lovely fiancé were married. We hope
them many years of wedded bliss. Good luck Gerald and Norma. May God Bless you
both.
Bobby is getting a cataract removed from his eye on September 25.
We hope and pray things go well with him. Ed (cruiser of the month), didn't want
to get his 83 Mustang dirty so he brought out his Red Ford Expedition to set
under the cruiser of the month banner. We heard that Ron's son is doing very
well and is coming home Wednesday September 20th. We hope he continues to
improve. Joe is still not back to work but we hope it won't be much longer.
Please say a prayer for him. We miss you Joe, hurry back. Where's Rooben
entertained us on stage tonight. Our 50/50 was won by Marie Jones, but she only
took home $25.00. A little low for a Friday Night. She bought 10 tickets. Our
Cruise-O-Matic was $50.00 but after 5 tries, Richard could not give it away.
