Another Friday night cruise, but this one was special, it was Cruiser
Appreciation Week. The merchants, Old Town, our staff and many others proved
that they do appreciate us cruisers. We thank you one and all.
We had a full line of early birds by 5 o'clock. When we got
parked on the brick street of Old-Town, we naturally looked for a place to eat.
A & W had a lot of discounts on their food for the cruisers. So we could not
pass that up. We had a very good meal at a good price and were treated royally.
Thank you A & W. Tom Coupe was out with his green Ford. His son Tom was down for
a week and brought out his 92 Chevy truck to cruise with us. He had some of his
biker friends with him. We hope he has a safe trip back to Allentown. Also Tom
Riopelle from Zepher Hills brought out his ford F 150 truck. He has taken
all the stickers and decals off his truck and had it repainted. It really looks
good. He is really in the Halloween mood, his whole truck is well decorated and
he promises to have more next week. You really have to stop and see this
masterpiece.
If you are looking for a club to join, maybe this is for you.
Wolfman and friends have started Trux-Plus. Any vehicle that is show worthy can
join. They plan to meet on Friday near the stage after the Friday Night Cruise
is finished. Wolfman is President and would be glad to talk to anyone
interested. Our Cruise-O-Matic was $100.00 and was taken on the first
number drawn. Our lucky winner was Joe Ness who was cruising since March. The
50/50, all $57.00 of it went to Mr. Pontiac (Mr. Lucky) again. Our set of new
tires went to Steve Conley of Winter Garden. Also $100.00 gift certificate went
to our friend and fellow cruiser, Bert Brown. We want to congratulate all our
winners. Many other prizes were given. Thanks to our generous donors. We had 137
cruisers for our appreciation week and a very good spectator turnout.
