The Friday Nite Cruise
At Old Town
West Highway 192
Kissimmee, Florida

May 26th

It was hot and muggy when we got to Old-Town this afternoon at our regular time. But shortly after 5:00, when they left us in on the brick street of Old-Town the very welcome rain came. It really cooled it off and was nice enough to leave before the cruise. We had a very nice night for our 68 cruisers that showed up.

The threat of rain reduced the number of spectators and cruisers. The ones that did not come out, missed a beautiful rainbow at the end of the storm. It sure was good to see Joe back on the job again. He seems to be doing very well and seems ready and able to handle his new job. He is looking good after loosing 30 some pounds and getting around very well. Welcome back Joe.
Only the regulars were on block four tonight. Gerald (Mr. Pontiac), got lucky again tonight and took home the 50/50. That makes twice in three weeks. Getting pretty good at it Gerald.

Congratulations and thanks for the banana cake. One of our flag winners tonight was a first time cruiser, John Schnellbach came over from Melbourne with his very nice blue 1976 Cadillac. This car was bought new and squirreled away for posterity. The owner has since passed away and John came upon this beautiful (like new) car. This car only has 5625 original miles on it. A very rare find. We hope to see John with his caddy back at Old-Town many more times. Thanks for coming out John. Another good find for one of our cruisers, (Dave Skord) was a 1983 Mercury Grand Marquis, which Dave said, he got for nothing. I said, you can't beat the price. This car is gold and only has 77,000 miles on it. Good find Dave and come back to see us often.
We guess this week will be Mike's last week as cruise master and we sure hope you and Kathy all the luck in your new adventure. We thank you for all you have done for us and all the cruisers and you will be missed.
Our gang cruised over to Flippers for a bite while it rained. We missed a few of our regulars that were out of town. Annette, our favorite server waited on us. She is always good to us and always smiling. Loose End Band was on stage tonight playing the later rock and roll tunes. No Dukes on the A & W corner tonight. No winner again for our cruise-a-matic. It still stands at $1,000. Well maybe next week we will have a lucky winner. We want to thank all of our sponsors at Old-Town for backing our cruisers and for the very nice prizes that you allot to us. We appreciate you.
Thanks for all the cruisers for coming out.

See you all next week.
