The Friday Nite Cruise
At Old Town
West Highway 192
Kissimmee, Florida

May 12th

Another beautiful day for a Friday cruise. Not a cloud in the sky when we arrived at our regular time. Buzz is usually here but he had a car show to go to. Joe Ness pulled right up behind us. Joe is going to college this year to study computers. He is from around Pittsburgh and he brings his red 1988 Ford Ranger out. He and his family did all the work on it and it is a very nice truck. He has just enough lights on it to show it off. It is nice to see the younger ones taking interest in the older cars. "Buckshot" Pearson from Ft. Pierce, came out tonight with his 1973 White super beetle Volkswagen. He has around a 2 hour drive to be with us, but the 35 mile per gallon he gets on this little car helps a lot. Some where along the way he must have hit a swarm of love bugs. The little white car almost had a black front.

By 5 o'clock we were entertained on stage by Piedmont Lake Middle School Jazz Band. This group of fine young people from Apopka has traveled all over the country including Chicago this year. Again, this is a one night stand, so Saturday night will miss this fine entertainment. The "Repeatles" were on stage as the regular band. Sorry, no Dukes on the corner tonight.

We had 109 beautiful cars this evening, including Ricardo Acosta from Poinciana. Ricardo brought his little 1976 Blue MG out tonight. This is his first time out since December. He had a little motor work to attend to but he assures us, he will try to get out more often. Don was out with another flashy island shirt, and with his camera around his neck and acting like he was taking everybody's picture. He sure likes to clown around. His wife Jackie had a mechanical hand with a white glove on it waving at everybody. These cruisers do know how to have fun. So come down and join us.
