No rain tonight, we had enough last Friday. We had a beautiful
night for our 128 cruisers who came out to show their beautiful vehicles. We
also had two prospects for regular Friday night cruisers. Shelby and Pat Edwards
came out from Winter Haven to show their Beautiful Yellow 1980 El Camino. They
bought this vehicle in 1987 and this is their second time out with it.
They seemed to be enjoying the cruisers and the atmosphere of Old-Town. They
assured us that they would be back and will probably be regular Friday night
cruisers. Larry and Chrissy Heaton from Deltona brought out their
1977 Blue Chrysler New Yorker. They only had this car one week. It is powered by
a 440 engine and gets 11 miles per gallon but the ride is well worth it. Larry
works at an auction and got this car at a very good price. They also assured us
that they would come out as often as they can. We do need more older cars.
Tom and Linda Spinello came down from Georgia to visit us cruisers. They usually
cruise but not tonight. They were regular Friday Night Cruisers until they moved
to Georgia. He also ran the Prowler Club from Poinciana. Good to see them again
and hope they can make it back soon.
Dave Garceau who is a Friday and Saturday Night Cruiser had some bad luck with
his Saturday night car. He had it stored in a building around 5 miles from where
he lives and someone set fire to the building and did a lot of damage to his
car. He had to replace the hood and get the whole car painted. Thank goodness it
did no damage to the interior. As of this writing, they have not found who did
it.
We had a lot of dissatisfied cruisers at the stage tonight. Someone changed the
pattern of distributing the prizes. We all want you to know that we liked it the
way it was, please change it back. Saturday night will probably be the same.
The Dukes were on the A & W corner and the Repeatles were on the stage. We
enjoyed the second week of our Friday Night Cruiser of the Month. Thanks to
Old-Town and our staff for the honor. Our prayers are still with Bert and Chuck.
We hope them a speedy recovery. We want to see them back at Old-Town as soon as
possible.
