We were later than usual getting to Old-Town today due to another
commitment but still Wolfman was the only one there in the rain. He comes out at
12 in order to get his favorite spot. Soon after Stan came in with his Blue
Pacer, due to the rain we decided to go to Flippers to pass the time until 5
o'clock. By 5 o'clock we still only had a half dozen cruisers and it was still
raining.
The rain kept all but 24 die-hard cruisers away. Very few low riders or
modifieds tonight. Block 4 was almost empty except for the four regulars.
Richard's Monte Carlo was not out but not because of rain, he needs a new fuel
pump. Mr. Pontiac did not show up. Hope it was only the weather that kept him
away.
Jim & Craig (The Dukes), being moved off the A & W corner, we know not why, were
out tonight but not singing. They would like to get a restaurant or two to
sponsor them. Maybe Fred's or A & W. We hope them luck because they are well
liked and are a big plus for Old-Town.
Eddy and the Cruisers were on stage tonight. This band is well
liked. They had only played an few numbers due to the the light rain.
We missed Mr. Bill and Lisa tonight. Bill had to go to Arizona and Lisa stayed
home with her brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time of
grief. Their many friends here at Old-Town miss them. Our Cruise-O-Matic is
still $1,000. No winner tonight. Joe tried hard. He pulled 10 numbers, but no
luck. The 50/50 was $35 on each side. Small amount but a small crowd also.
This cruise news is a little short tonight but so was the cruise. Better luck
next time. Hope to see you all next week.
Bill & Doris
