The weatherman was good to us again tonight. We had showers all
around but Old-Town was clear. We had a beautiful night for our 87 cruisers that
showed up. We guess the threat of rain kept some of the cruisers at home. We
arrived at our regular time and about an hour later Stan and Mary Ann arrived
with their blue pacer. Then Doug came in with his yellow T-Bird followed by Tom
and his green truck. We all passed some of the time tightening a water hose on
one of the cruisers. Thank the Lord we got it fixed before they left us in at
5:00. Our little group decided to go to Flippers for our evening meal. As usual
Annette served us in her friendly way. Thank you Annette. We picked up a new
sponsor tonight, (Fred's Sports Grill). Thank you Fred for the 10.00
certificates. Block 4 had their usual cruisers but it was not filled. A good
many of the regulars were missing tonight. Some on vacation or going to other
shows. Dave and Beverly were out again tonight. Dave is a devoted cruiser but he
ia also very talented. He just finished recording a new CD. Country music is his
favorite and he does a very good job. He was very gracious and we came away with
one of the CD's. Thanks Dave and Bev. Robert (Woody) Flanders brought out his
1977 Beige Bonneville Pontiac. It is a beautiful car and has 69,000 miles on it.
It is a 4 door car and in very good shape. It is not the only cruiser he has. He
also won a flag. Where's Rooben was on stage tonight. No Dukes at Fred's. Our
50/50 was $82.00. A lady from England was the lucky winner. Her daughter pulled
the lucky number. What luck? Our Cruise-O-matic still stands at $1,000. Joe
pulled 8 numbers again tonight, but he just can't give it away. Maybe next week.
As you know we were the first Friday night cruiser of the month. We want to
thank all who were responsible for this honor. Thank you Old-town and Staff. See you all next Friday.
