We arrived at our regular time at Old-Town on a hot afternoon.
Wolfman and Joe were already in place. The rain came in a little after 4 and it
was over as we cruised down the streets of Old-Town. The weather cooled down and
it was a beautiful evening for the cruise. We had 92 cruisers come out tonight
to show off their cars. Not bad for a rainy start. We also had a good number of
spectators. Another successful cruise. Ralph and Shirley surprised us and came
out to spend some time with the cruisers. They have not been out for 2 months.
Andy Billitteri is our Cruiser of the Month for August. He has a 1979 Coupe de
Ville Cadillac. One owner and only 42,000 miles on this beautiful Blue Cruiser.
Congratulations Andy.
We have some very bad news. Ron Hendershot's son John was in a very bad
accident, Thursday Night, Aug. 3 on 27. At this writing, he is in critical
condition. John's son was in the back seat and he is at Arnold Palmer Hospital.
We need all your prayers to get them through this. This is all we know at this
time.
The Cube was on stage tonight. No Dukes at Fred's. James Martnick, one of our
youngest cruisers, is leaving Saturday August 5th for Houston, Texas. He will be
attending UCI and studying Auto Repairing. This will be good for him, because he
likes to work on cars. He will be gone, approximately a year. Will miss you
James. Good Luck! Our 50/50 was $53.00. It was won by Doug from Davenport. He
graciously donated the full amount to Ron's son and family. We thank you Doug,
that was very considerate of you.
Joe's biggest problem with his new job is giving away money. He pulled 14
numbers tonight and our Cruise-O-Matic still stands at $1,000. Keep trying Joe.
Only 3 of our flag winners showed up on stage. We never found the
4th one.
