Well the Rains came tonight but diminished shortly after 5 o’clock when
they let us in at Old Town. We had a beautiful night with our 83
cruisers. We also were entertained on stage by a Steel Drum Band from
Holmes Community College. These fine young people came all the way from
Goodman, Missouri with their flashy red shirts with white flowers, they
made quite an impressive group and they were also easy to listen to.
They played Jimmy Buffet type music. They were in town for the Pirate
Dinner Show and have to leave Saturday morning, so Saturday Night
Cruisers don’t get to enjoy this band. They were followed by Topaz on
stage. No Dukes tonight.
Block four was very scarce for cruisers only 4 showed up. Ryan Fontaine
from Titusville brought out his grey 1989 Caddy. He got this beautiful
car for $900 3 years or so ago. This car is now powered by a 307
Oldsmobile engine. A few touchups and a new paint job and he has a
beautiful cruiser. This car is in daily use and he comes to cruise with
us a couple of times a month.
John Coklyat also came a good way to cruise with us (Citrus County). He
brought his Grand Ville Pontiac tonight. This car is a convertible with
white top and red bottom. This 1974 is powered by a 455 engine and was
bought new by John. Looking good John. Come back as often as you can to
cruise with us.
We want to thank Sun on the Beach for giving us cruisers free tickets to
their Saturday Night show featuring The Shirelles and Rockin Robin.
We also want to thank NAPA for sponsoring our cruise with Gift
Certificates for a Case of Oil.
We appreciate you.
See you all next week.
