September 21st
0% chance of rain, 100%
chance of Love Bugs! This still didn't stop nearly 90 cars from coming
out tonight.
When Linda and I arrived at 4:15 "Mustang Mike" had already
set the cones. We all were hoping for a big Cruise-In tonight. By 5:00
we already had about a dozen or so cars in the lot. Steve Mc in his Hot
Rod, Chuck in a T-Bucket, Ron in the Caddy were among the first to
arrive. John, KG4BFJ, was also early tonight. "Big John" was out in the
Gold Shelby. He has been traveling a lot this summer and has not been
out much on a Thursday. The "Mustang Twins" are back in town from their
trip. Only had Paul's 'Stang out tonight.
We had Kim with a '67 Mustang, Chuck & Cindy with a '23 For
T-Bucket and RJ with a '72 Chevy Pickup join us tonight, Welcome! Nicky
"Bop" is still looking for an Echo. Bobby G. brought out his '54 Chevy,
Tony & Marianne had their new '71 Monte parked next to him. Louie had
the '52 Ford parked in the front row. Phillip brought out his Camaro.
"Doc" had the old 'Tater Truck next to it. Scott, Mike and Russ had the
Hot Rods in their regular spots. Paul even got his DeSoto put back
together for tonight. It was good seeing so many in the lot tonight, the
heat and rain from this summer sure kept a lot of Cruisers away.
Ashley and Shelby not only helped Mike and Bob out in the
trailer, they entertained us with a bit of their "Clogging". Ron still
shiftless had his driver bring him out tonight. Ron B. is not feeling
well so we have not had the 3 Stooges together since John came back to
town. Get well Ron.
Thank You to all the Cruisers that come out to this
Cruise-In on a regular basis and those who come when they can. The
regular spectators that come out Including Dennis and Francine on a
regular basis and especially our sponsors that support us and the
newsletter. Personally I wish to Thank all that donate money and
articles that are written or inspired by you the Cruisers. This is
always a good time, a real family event.
Ashley & Shelby were the "Special Ticket Pickers". Dana a
spectator had the winning ticket for the $100 50/50, she donated back
$20 to this newsletter.
Curt Lixie Cruiser #32 was out tonight and his number was
drawn for the "Cruise-A-Matic" so he took home the $200, next week it
starts over at $25.
John & Jennifer Robinson Cruiser #663 and their '65 Mustang
went home with "Cruiser of The Week".
Here are the photos.
Congratulations to the winners, See you "Out There!"
