November 9th
The weather couldn't have been more beautiful for a
Thursday Nite Cruise-In, by 5:30 there where many cars lined up along
the first row, by nights end it would make it to the stop sign to the
North. Most of the Regulars were out tonight. It looked like Nicky "Bop"
was put in "Time Out" for the evening by Marianne, "only 1 yellow
Corvette in the Front Row!". Trevor was already parked there. Hot Rod
Row was full. Ed & Evelyn were out for a while along with Tom in his
Greenbrier. Ed & Sarah in the Starfire were on the other side of the
island from Steve Mc in his "Real Steel '27 T" . Chuck had his T-Bucket
out early, traffic is much better coming out a bit earlier. Betty's
Mustang is still in the shop so they were out in Paul's. Dan Z is back
in town from a quick trip to Michigan, he was reminded by 22 degree
temperatures and ice, just why he moved south. "Big" Jim & Norma had
"Hot Flash", their '67 Ranchero parked by the Willys. Neil & Elaine had
the Healey parked in Row 2. Neil was celebrating his Birthday with us
tonight. Nearly 60 cars lined our Cruise-In area of the Wal-Mart parking
lot by it's end.
Of course there were many others that attended tonight,
including all 3 of the Stooges, Bob helped out in the Trailer after he
assisted Doug with his Street Rod, a brake line was giving him some
grief. It was decided to Flatbed it out and get it repaired, He & Jane
will be back out next week. Cara was spotted in the group, she was
hoping her cheerleading squad was going to come out and give us a
demonstration, it didn't come together, maybe next week. Marianne served
up some of her great cupcakes to Cruisers that stopped by to visit her.
I am sure glad she likes to bake. Sorry Tony, she said she had to bring
them out so you wouldn't eat them all.
It is always a great time with good friends, every Thursday
nite, except for Thanksgiving Thursday, and the Thursday before and
after Christmas.
I was corrected on the names of Bob (AKA Moe) & Ron (Curly)
when John (Larry) is out of town, They are Statler & Waldorf! Astoria is
Statler's sister and Waldorf's Wife. Now they are heckling me in the
newsletter. Mustang Mike got to play their theme as Ron, AKA Curly, won
the 50/50 that was $101.50. He donated $10 to this newsletter, Thanks.
The "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $200 next week. Cruiser
#243 Mike & Chris Kipp were not out tonight.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home with "Trevor the Cruisin
Dog" and his '84 Corvette. OK so it was Bill & Virginia Azar, Cruiser
#12.
We have a dozen or so Convertibles headed this weekend to
Harmony's Dark Skies event this Saturday night and many headed for Old
Town as a regular haunt.
Here are some photos.
